Computer Audio Interview at Dagogo

Chris, thanks for providing the link and thanks for an informative interview. I learned a couple of things here and there about the acronyms that are used so frequently on this site. <br />

I was intrigued by one statement that you made:<br />

" I don’t consider any wireless solutions available at the time of this writing to be true audiophile solutions."<br />

As you may recall, I used the Logitech Transporter as me entry point into computer audio. I subsequently moved to the PS Audio Perfectwave DAC(PWD). I have, of course, acknowledged in a previous post some of the shortcomings of the PWD/Bridge. The issues, as many are aware, include gapless, skips and dropouts. The latter 2 issues are improved upon with every new software release, and the gapless issue, PSA promises, will eventually be resolved. With its admitted shortcomings, I find the sound quality of the PWD/Bridge used in an NAS system to be excellent for redbook and hi res files alike. I would be interested to know why you don't view the PWD/Bridge as a true audiophile solution. If you disregard it for its aforementioned problems, then I fully understand. If there is some other reason to dismiss it from the ranks of audiophile equipment, I am, as they say, "all ears." Thanks.<br />

Hi Esau - The PWD/Bridge is a wired Ethernet device and does not fall under my "Wireless Solutions" category. I think wired Ethernet solutions are definitely capable of audiophile quality playback. I will spend some time with the PWD/Bridge once more of the kinks are worked out.<br />

it was I who contacted Chris about the interview, not the other way around. Chris was gracious throughout the process, and obviously put considerable time effort into answering the questions, for which I am most appreciative. The interview was intended for dagogo readers who are new to computer audio, and I hope we can follow it up with additional interviews in which we explore certain aspects of computer audio in greater depth.<br />
