Squarewaves from DACs

Miska

Based on request here, I made some more square wave scope measurements using a high resolution scope for comparison with earlier measurements of DSC1.

Here are 7 kHz square wave results for the DSC1.

Here are 7 kHz square wave results for the iFi iDSD Micro.

And for comparison Marantz HD-DAC1.

There is also notable difference between waveform stability and consistency between different formats and rate. At lowest PCM rates there is much more shape variation from cycle to another and the highest DSD rates have very consistent waveform shape. This is most visible in the intensity coded DPO mode plots I posted earlier.

Miska and details on the modulator settings for the iDSD Micro? My settings for iDSD micro I have the filter set to standard on the unit. I use 7th order modulation I find the 7th order sound best to my ear?
