Musical Fidelity V-DAC II - SPDIF input via Audiophilleo sounded magnitudes better that straight USB input. No surprise.
NAD M51 - SPDIF input via...

Call me old school, but for $7,000 I expect a product to be polished, complete and finished. Not have all these noise issues, need updated chips, etc.
Also, if I...

I've gone through a few of these myself. Hang in there, it will settle down!

Hows' the M51 doing?
I finally got the Metrum Octave and I'm on day 6 of the 24/7 continuos play burn in period. When it's completely burned in and I'm very familiar with it, I will go borrow the...

This whole story / topic / thread is just weird.
Any decent speaker that can compare with the Maggies is going to be similarly sized, or at least take up the same general space.

Take a look at JBL 6332.
Or something from Tekton, like the Lore.

I'm not getting harsh out of the box but if it wants to smooth out even more, I'll take it.
I've been sitting here for 2 hours and can't stop listening to it. No fatigue whatsoever. Gonna...
Why would someone need to "cancel a membership?"
You just never come back.
Oh yeah, grandstanding. Almost forgot.

Sounds as good as anything I've heard straight out of the box but will let it burn in before talking about it.

Agreed on the FW.
I've already ditched that idea with my purchase of the Audiophilleo2.
You obvservarion of pre-upsampling has been echoed a lot here at CA and on other sites. I plan to do my...

I use iTunes + PM and Pure Music handles all the dedicated communication with the DAC, or in my case the AP2 specifically.
I found a large SQ difference between bare iTunes and PM. People have...

So what is HDTracks again?

I think many do not want to hear this message because they have spent a lot of money, time and effort on the best hi-rez playback they can attain. They have "bought in" so...
"Now that we understand the market need for a perfect DAC to meet the needs of both holiday and everyday drudgery of life homes...."
A new market segment for sure.
You can BUY a ticket like everyone else..
And I can't wait to see your equipment update.
Mine is morphing as well.. (damn customs)

I hear ya!
Not to mention you need to live near enough to the venues, which are typically downtown in major cities...a major hassle.
Don't you know you can't "win" on a forum?
You have 823 comments here alone, so you must be burned in already.
Make the adjustment.

You guys are perfectly making the OP's point.
Classical is best enjoyed by going to the orchestra. No recording EVER comes close, no matter what format.
There's too much space, too many...
The best thing to do with stuff you don't like is to let it lay. That's the best contribution you can make.
I've done it hundreds of times. Read through something, shook my head, then just hit...
I don't have to like the length. Others have expressed the same.
