  1. @HiFiGuy258, I also have repeatable crashes of itunes following update to 10.6. Specifically in album cover grid view, any zooming of size below 50% causes a crash. This happens under different user id's, different libraries and with/without hdmi screen connection. The itunes 10.6 crashes seem to have mutiple causes as indicated by the lengthy apple forum. Sorry I do not have any solutions but you are not alone in your frustrations with Apple.
  2. I too am now up and running using the Young driver. Thank you to all who have contributed answers here and of course a special thank you from a grateful Kiwi to our Trans-Tasman experts at stereo.net.au - sorry about the rugby ;-)
  3. Noted, but I am still curious to find out if it is possible in OS X - I hate the idea of missing out when Windows users are on to a winner ;-). Of course the real answer is for M2Tech to update the HiFace drivers to reflect the Young driver improvements...
  4. Thanks Naggots - I hoped it would be that easy but no joy :-( The steps I took were to uninstall the HiFace drivers as per user manual i.e. Open a console, then type the following commands: sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/Hiface.kext /tmp sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions sudo pkgutil --forget com.m2tech.driver Then, restart the Mac. I confirmed the HiFace was not recognised and then installed the Young driver. Unfortunately the HiFace does not pick up the Young driver. Any other ideas welcomed.
  5. I am using a John Kenny Mk2 modified M2Tech HiFace USB/SPDIF fed from a 2010 Mac Mini 2010 running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Good results are being reported (by Windows users I think) of using the M2Tech Young DAC driver on HiFace (and its JKeny variants). see: https://sites.google.com/site/hifacemods/home/announcements/improvethesoundofmyhifacedevices Being an OS X newbie I seek help on how to force my system to use the Young DAC driver (already downloaded an installed). In Windows this is straight forward but less obvious in Snow Leopard it seems...
