  1. Hello, I just recently bought a Dell Studio XPS 9100 with a Realtek HD Audio soundcard. I am having an issue where it takes my music and reduces various components of the sound whenever other sounds come in. For example, if I have a piano part playing with only a high hat on the drums, the levels sound great. But then, when the bass drum comes in, the sound level of everything is reduced, especially the piano parts. I believe this is happening because of noise reduction caused by the soundcard. In order to check this theory, I exported the music I recorded to a WAV file and listened to it on another computer, with no noise reduction noticed. So it looks like my theory is correct. To add to the problem, there is no way to change settings, that I can find, to get this to stop happening. I was wondering if anyone out there has had this problem and knows of a way to fix it. This new computer is the main part of my new home studio which I am using to create professional royalty-free audio for various media projects. Can anyone please help? - guitarjock
