  1. Several posters have asked the high res retailers for verification of the actual file content. Why not leave that to the community? With the collective power of many audiophiles interested in this information it should not be too dificult to build up the database. At least that's what I thought when I took the initiative and created highresreview.com for that purpose. Though visitors generally use the sites search function alot, I'm a little surprised that the spectras aren't being uploaded like pearls on a string. At least considering the demand this thread expresses. I have uploaded a few spectras to the site and if others will do the same I hope a rich and very structured database independent of retailers could soon be a realitity. This is a link to The Four Season with a file spectrum included. If each of the retailers started providing this information wouldn't it just be noise to people not interested and a cost we all would have to pay for?
  2. I hope a site like the new hiresreview.com that compares prices and allows for users to upload spectras in a very structured database will help bring light on where you get value for your money. This Brad Shepic album for example shows that prices easily differs by a few dollars. Hopefully someone will add some a spectrum or a review soon. I just added some links myself to other reviews. Once the sites user base grows and more merchants are added I hope this site will be a valuable source of information when buying high resolution music.
  3. For some time I have had a wish for a structured database on high resolution music, reviews and related information. I decided to do something about it and I now feel ready to share my work with you and hopefully have your comments and suggestions. Basically I put together a database on http://hiresreview.com and a way for anybody to manage a collection of high resolution music and reviews. Initially the daily updated site database mirrors the total collective contents of high resolution music from hdtracks.com, qobuz.com and linnrecords.com. Currently that amounts to some 2500 albums. I will add albums from more sources over the next weeks. That means that one search on hiresreview.com searches the entire high-res content of all shops included in the database. All albums contain information about contents, price and formats. Interestingly enough I have seen examples of the same album being available from more than one source at different prices! For eaxample: http://hiresreview.com/album/corigliano_violin_concerto_the_red_violin_phantasmagoria Users of the site can write and share reviews including optional upload of an image. I imagine some would like to share file spectrums or the like. Every day all published albums from the different shops end up on the homepage. Registered users can manage albums, listening experiences, links and a wish list in addition to reviews. Everything can be added and edited ( even deleted ) as often as you wish. I think it would be really helpful with a very structured database of high resolution music. Both to filter good from bad but also as an inspiration to find new and interesting music. I plan to continue develop the site so all input are very welcome! What shops would you like to see added to the site? What functionality do you miss? What parts of the site do you find helpfull? Is it easy enough to add content and so on? Kim
