So are you saying that it is not possible to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi with Maroubra? Or simply not recommended as a music server, but nevertheless possible? I could turn on the Wi-Fi when ripping CD's to pull down metadata, and turn off Wi-Fi and all other features and optimize system while listening to music, couldn't I?

I have a newbie question. I currently use an Apple iMac running Audirvana+ 2.0 as my source, but I'm interested in replacing it with a C.A.P.S, particularly the Maroubra due to its price and form factor. Could the Maroubra be used as a dedicated music server only, or also as a personal computer? In other words, if I have a PC monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer, could I use it as a full-fledged desktop PC running Windows that I can not only listen to music with, but also use the Internet via Wi-Fi, watch videos, perform word processor task (such as MS Word) and stuff? Also, does the Maroubra have a CD drive? Or do I need to purchase a separate drive and connect it to the PC? If the above is possible, I would like to use dBpoweramp to rip CD's.

Chris, I own a Fostex TH900 too, and I personally prefer this over the warmer, darker sounding LCD-3. That being said, did you try listening to the new Fosgate Signature headphone amplifier? You seem to have taken a couple of pictures of it. I was curious about how it sounds, but no one who's been to CanJam this year had anything to say about it.

Hi. I suppose this is my first post on Computer Audiophile. I started computer hi-fi several months ago with my iMac. I've been using Pure Music ever since. Today I noticed something weird. I just felt like playing music using iTunes so that I can compare how Pure Music sounds better than iTunes. The trouble is, music doesn't come out of iTunes. Not only iTunes, not even those regular beeping sounds the computer makes. Right now, the only sound that comes out is music played by Pure Music and sounds that come from the Internet. My DAC can handle only up to 24/176.4... and the only time I've seen it not play music is when I play 24/196 files (which I accidentally purchased in my beginning days). My DAC (Metrum Acoustics Octave) displays a red light if there is an error, when the DAC is getting a signal that is not compatible. And if I play iTunes, the DAC signal turns red. Same goes when the computer makes those beeping noises - instead of a beeping sound, the red light flashes for a second. What do you think is the problem? I can still enjoy music using Pure Music, but I also want to hear other sounds as well. These sounds can be heard well if I'm using the iMac's own speakers, but not when I'm using my DAC. The only explanation I can think of is that the iMac is automatically upsampling every sound it makes (with the exception of Pure Music and the Internet) to a rate that my DAC cannot handle. Can anyone help me?
