  1. Sometimes they do resurrect threads after a sanitization by mods. What a shame though, if its truely deleted, after so much time and effort by many parties.
  2. I guess Mr Scoggins will now have more time for his "research".
  3. Does it bother you that UMG is still adding this cr*p to your high res recordings? Have you contacted your favorite UMG-distributed label to complain yet? Let's raise some noise!
  4. I am fine with the ECM anti-streaming position. I still buy about the same amount of ECM titles as I always have, split between CDs and downloads. I do feel this is the best way to support ECM and their artists.
  5. Perhaps a digital recording transferred to analog for mastering/mixing, etc, and now back to digital. There is clearly some kind of tape bias or other analog anomalies going on above 22KHz. You still may have the best digital transfer available.
  6. Vinyl with the same master will always be 2-3 Db better, and sound about the same.
  7. This will have all the same flaws as the SACDs. What the band needs is the "Panegyric" treatment - e.g. see the re-release campaign for King Crimson and Yes (plus Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, XTC). Genesis botched it last time and can't see anything happening for some time.
  8. Is it high-res and can you download it?
  9. Eventually I would imagine, assuming the pattern from the 1st box.
  10. Ripping working perfectly on Pioneer BDP-80FD (firmware 1.01). Very cool. I am now tempted to shell out for some of the Japanese SHM-SACDs.
  11. Anyone tried with the US Pioneer Elite BDP-80? It looks very similar to the BDP-170, but don't know if the chipset is the same.
  12. You're rushing to judgement. Apple did not buy cloud-based music provider Omnifone
