  1. Hi Jesus As a customer who had purchased ultrarendu then opticalRendu what are the advantages of deluxe version vs the opticalRendu run? I’m on so2.9 with opticalRendu is it worth the move to the deluxe? Have you done a comparison between the two subjectively can you hear a difference. Objectively does it outperform it in noise, thermals, and etc? I appreciate any insights and thankful for your support.
  2. I have a qnap nas ts-451 with red wd 4 bay x4tb ea. I have only had 1 hd failure in last 3900 days. I run benchmark tests weekly and extensive monthly to check hdd health. Cool thing is you can setup all these tests run on a schedule and send you notifications. It’s always good to keep extra hdd drives on hand just in case for a hot swap. I thought about moving to enterprise level hdd any experience with enterprise server level drives are they worth it? I was only interested for the write speeds.
  3. To get port trunking you need to make sure your switches support 802.3ad protocol. Most consumer level do not offer this support enterprise level switches do I’m not aware of any unmanaged switches that support 802.3ad.
  4. If your using accurate rip database then read error shouldn’t matter because your comparing your bits ripped with others who have ripped that cd with your particular drive.
  5. I don’t know your system but there is no such thing as all 100 noise removal it can’t be done. You can reduce the noise considerably. For me and my setup fiber did make a difference I could hear.
  6. Go fiber then you can keep your ether ditch all the other components. Get a better psu for your chord. Try something like opticalRendu that would paire well with ether use the SFP modules to connect the two. That should maximize what you already got and remove all the extra components in your chain.
  7. Not a good idea to limit read speed let software detect. You could try dbPoweramp that’s what I use to rip cd’s. XLD is good you can add the script that writes the accurate log I think I got that from red.
  8. If you’re looking for good sq you do need to go hdmi ditch toslink for AV. I’d recommend exploring rtings.com see what equipment meets your needs. I’m using Bose Soundbar 900 with 700 bass module. My reason is this bar is designed for Atmos in mind. It’s also very flat frequency response out of the box. This work with HDMi into the eArc/Arc hdmi port this gets best performance. I’m using LG OLED I stream Dolby Vision and HDR10 looks very good. Doesn’t beat my Oppo 4K player but it’s still very decent.
  9. When I started this journey I researched on dbpoweramp for drives that have the highest confidence most accurate rips. I found ASUS BW-16D1HT and Vantec NST-536S3-BK NexStar DX USB 3.0. I used my own power supplies the JS2 12v. I was able to blast through my collection very quickly and accurately. I only had about dozen not accurate due to damaged foils.
  10. A: BY&WG B:BY&WG I’m really digging this one it sounds controlled and refined the decay is very quick and sense of space has nice depth.
  11. I swapped A:WYGR this brought back some bass and brought up some details deep in the mix. ZZ Top Tres Hombres never sounded better.
  12. I tried the variations on both A and B sides with Herrera config. If your asking whether the differences where audible? Absolutely I liked Herrera initially but after critical listening I was needing more focus in the low end and distinction in the drumming ie; cymbals. It’s amazing how much changing the config on the lush^3 changes the atmosphere specifically the openness of the soundstage.
  13. Howdy after the break in period and trying the roberrherra config I did a dozen variations on it I found it to be a little splashy in the cymbals and bass to be wide. So after many back and forth I found a variation on roberraherra’s I was wanting more focus the bass a little more and cymbals to sound more distinct without being fatiguing. I also find the drum hits to be more distinct better timbre. A:WGYR B:WG At first this one caught me ear but after testing it out on variety of genres and music with varying amounts of compression I found it to be fatiguing to open on top and dare I say overdriven. I liked the bass but once’s the top end kicked in I found myself reaching for the dial. A:WYRG B:WY I did a dozen more but these two had the most promise in my setup.
  14. Alex, Do you make a DC power cord that can connect to newer macbook USB-C connectors? Also if possible could I use the JS2 to power both my Macbook and ultrarendu or would that defeat the galvanic isolation?
  15. Do any of these settings matter if your using a streamer? Direct Mode, Exclusive Access, and or Integer Mode have any baring on streaming?
