  1. Thanks, the DAC is an accuphase DAC50. The specs for DSD shown below. I understand that 11.2896 MHz is DSD256. Does the ‘ASIO only’ comment for the high rate mean that rate is not ‘DSD direct’? https://www.accuphase.com/model/dac-50.html DSD/2.8224MHz,5.6448MHz,11.2896MHz(1bit) *11.2896MHz(ASIO only)
  2. Hi Jussi, Do you have any recommended settings for DSD upscaling to a AK4490EQ DAC chip? I am using the embedded version of HQP.

Antipodes has HQ Player v4.31.0. Does that version support the dongle?

Hi Jussi, I see that there is now an option to buy a USB hardware dongle which my existing license key can be loaded. Can you please confirm if the dongle will work on Antipodes servers which have their own native operating system? This could be a useful option for me because I would like to move my license from my EX to CX server, but retain flexibility if my hardware configuration changes in the future.
  5. I am also interested in applying some room correction, similar to what can be done with Amarra (which I dont have, but have read about the EQ workflow that Steve Nugent uses). I already have an OmniMic software and mic for measuring the room. Basically I would like to choose a central frequency, the width of the filter, and a +/- dB correction, repeat as necessary for various lumps in the measured spectrum. I know you can add AU plug-ins to Audirvana but wouldnt know where to start to apply the corrections described above. Are there any published help documents describing which plug-in to install, how to install it and how to make the EQ corrections? To be honest I would like to see the room EQ feature integrated into stand-alone Audirvana instead of using plug-ins.
  6. I spoke too soon. I am getting the problem described above again. It plays a few seconds of a song, stalls, then plays the whole song from the beginning. It sort of kiils the flow of a listening session. Damien, is there some recommended settings that could fix this?
  7. 1.5.8 is working much better than 1.5.7 for me. I was getting lots of glitches where the song played for a few seconds, then paused, then restarted and played through. This hasnt happened yet with 1.5.8
  8. Chris some questions about all the CAPS machines, apologies if it has come up before. 1. Do they have WiFi antennae built in? 2. If not is it OK to connect to WiFi via an external WiFi adapter (like Netgear) for the purpose of desktop sharing? 3. I understand that you recommend storing all music files on a NAS. Does this need to be hard-wired to the CAPS or is WiFi connection OK? 4. Is external DC 12V for all the different CAPS models? How many amps are needed? Just thinking about which power supply from Paul Hynes or Teddy Pardo would work best. Thanks
  9. It looks like you need to sign up for a paid subscription service for cloud computing. You need to enter your credit card details to sign up. How much does each album cover cost? Looks like a step backwards to me. In the last version you could choose between several free databases, and usually one of them would have the album art.
  10. Thanks. Looks like it is not compatible with the best features of Audirvana. For the money its probably better to go with Amarra symphony which has EQ built in. For what its worth I have had very positive experience with Lyngdorf Room Perfect, so believe some sort of EQ is needed.
  11. Saw a link to this room correction software on another forum: Dirac RCS | Dirac Research Does anyone here have any experience with this software? is it compatible with audio players that bypass the mac core audio system, like Audirvana?
  12. I have just tried it on mine, listening through BNC and RCA inputs. I agree that there is a definite change in the sound. As described above, the sound "opens up" and seems more transparent. The midrange and vocals in particular become more prominent, and the soundstage and imaging is improved. To my ears the bass is a bit less prominent. It is still there, but the midrange is more dominant in the tonal balance. I am curious to know if the design decision to include the ferrites was indeed to reduce interference and meet regulatory requirements, or alternatively a design decision to "tune" the sound to ARC house sound. I think I like the new sound but will need to listen for a week or so to decide for sure. 13. I bought one of these power cords for my Sonos (same figure 8 power input) and am very happy with the results. My Mac Mini runs off a separate Linear DC power supply (item audio modified) http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=89756.0
  14. AB835, it would be good to know what inputs you are using and if the mod effects SPDIF inputs as well as the USB input (see my post above). OP is not using SPDIF source. Many thanks, Andrew
  15. Thanks for the tip. I own DAC8, but am using Offramp 4 to convert USB from Mac Mini USB to BNC input on DAC8. Can you confirm if the mod suggested only improves USB input or does it also improve RCA/BNC SPDIF inputs too? Many thanks, Andrew
