  1. Hi. I'm thinking about buying the following system, and would love some feedback if anyone here has experience with either the combination or least some of the components. Amp: Harman/Kardon HK980 Speakers: PSB Imagine Mini Cd/dac: Harmon/Kardon HD990 This is due to both positive reviews, good prices at the moment and local availability. What I'm looking for in my system is the following: - Dynamics and a varm/full sound - Good sound even at low volume levels and off-axis - Suitable for all types of rock(progressive,alternative,blues-rock etc), but also some jazz. - Able to fill a small to moderate room I've never truly looked at H/K before, since it seems a bit too "mainstream" compared to other hifi-brands, but perhaps that's a foolish way of thinking. Anyway, truly appreciate any feedback
  2. Thanks for the feedback sounds very promising indeed. What I initially worried most about was how good such a sub can sound for music, if it integrated well or became "boomy". Was it the regular Bird you listened to, or the smaller/larger one? Not quite sure which one to go for if I decide for one of them.
  3. Hi. Has anyone here tried one of the Focal Bird-configurations, or at least a similar downwards-firing sub? Seems like a elegant system, and the few reviews I've found have been very positive.
  4. Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a while, learning about various aspects of computer-based hifi, and thought it was time I registered. I'm planning to upgrade my current stereo system, which is pretty basic and consists of a cambridge reciever, some rather cheap speakers and a ps3 as the music server. I've been looking at two different solutions, and would love some input on one or both. It will be used for both music and movies. 1. Rega Dac, Rega Brio-r and some Tannoy speakers, recieving music from an airport express. 2. Zeppelin Air. 1 is of course the more expensive and traditional system. The thing is, due to other expenses right now that solution will take a while to afford, which means that I would have to buy one component at a time and try to combine it with my existing system in the meantime. I've heard nothing but positive comments on the Zeppelin, but could it really even come close to the Rega+Tannoy system? The advantages of the Zeppelin is of course that I can afford a complete solution much quicker. One more thing: I absolutely love listening to music, but ease of use is also important for me. Therefore I'd prefer to download music instead of buying cds, but that mostly means lossy audio...would the two solutions I'm considering make the difference between lossy and lossless audible? Hoping for some guidance from more experienced people, thanks in advance.
