  1. Snowman

    Nad M51

That any good USB cable preferably a good quality one.
  2. Big difference soundwise, The M2 has much more presence, it can define a recording more precise in terms of 3d and resolution, its even easier to hear how the recordings were made. The benefit of both is that they can drive really big speakers with difficult loads. Also there is a easy way to get even more performance from them, use any kind of filtering block/chord that that can cope with the maximum power and you will find yourself in a another level performance, the bits and pieces in them benifit massively from being isolated from other eletrical devices. Even your electricity is and you dont hear any benefit in other devices these will always gain. Oyeah the 390DD has the ability to do equalisation in the digital domain, u can clear away standing waves where the bass is thick and heavy and undifined making way for precision and definition tightness and speed.
  3. I second´that ABSOLUTELY! I have been toying with the idea of building a new system with 2 M2:s. Its been on my mind ever since last moth when i borrowed one to use togheter with my own.
  4. Hey Bill I think youre on to something about the 390, whenever i isolate it from the other components it got calmer and more clear, more expresive. i tried it on my M51 and on my M2 and got similar results, i stumbled across this when i was listening to a Eric Bibb song when i switched of my Cambridge 751Bd and the M2 paused briefly. That made me think, so i got a screened powercable from Isotek and one Vandenhul wich i used to great effect. It still pauses but i love it even more now that i have it behind a filtered powercord.
  5. Its a simple question, whenever i make a change in my system i only make them in one direction and that is to the better, iám considering making a change in my current setup, Lyngdorf DPA 1 Preamp/Dac/Roomcorrection/ - Classe Audio CA2300 - Bower & Wilkins 802 Diamonds. What iám considering is changing to the Nad M2, its a better performer in almost all categories, this is regardeless och technology. In this case class A up to 30 percent, which is more then 90 percent of the time or PWM which is not really Class D. Or i prefer to say Class D is not PWM. A PWM amp is completely digital, analog is the last thing that happens. I am going to audition the M2 at home next week for the first time, i´ve alreday compared both in the store, and the M2 surpassed the Classe CP800/CA2300/ both via the B&W802DIA. Iám in anguish about this potential move since i love the look and the masivness och the Preamp/poweramp combo. I tell can you a few things about my perdicament, My Classe amp goes for about 4500 dollars, when i choose it, it equalled and surpassed; Krell, Mark Levinson,MBL and ARC equivilants which i auditened at the time. In terms of speed, transparency 3D and dynamics, it beats out my current setup, but it has to completly convinve in my livingroom first for me to make the switch.
  6. I think some peple are getting carried away, it does have jitter, but they are saying its so low that it´s unmeausureble´. I say who lives will find out. Cani
  7. Check the link, Greg Stidsen specificaly mentions DSD into PWM signal. Cani
  8. A Nad engineer is talking about in the link, he says it upsamples to 844 Khz dsd/PWM, and that that is the only way for it to procces any incomming signal from all its connections! The HDMI repeater is there so it can take audio from a Bluray player and pass the video, and since Bluray players talk mostly bitstream it should handle, but then most bluray players can switch to PCM, so we will have to wait and se. Cani
  9. I´ve actually ordered one, i will get it att the end of November. If it performs the way i think i will, it will change peoples perceptions to whats considered value for money.
  10. I´ve listened to the M2 mostly with Sonos ZP90 and Classe CDP202, and i have come to the conclusion that i have bought the wrong rig:( The M2 is a monster amp if i had bought it i would have been able to buy a pair of B&W 802:s instead of 804:s wich i bought with my Classe CA2300 and my Lyngdorf DPA 1. The M2 beats my current rig in almost all areas, especially the resolution, speed, dynamics, depth and above its silent, when i say silent i mean put your ear very close to any element put the volume to max and hear the sound of nothing! Very very annoying, i ám going to Audition the M51 and the M50 and see if can bring som of above mentioned abilities to my current rig.
