  1. How does one pay for it? JB
  2. I've obtained great results over many years with their insights: http://www.audiophysic.de/aufstellung/index_e.html jb
  3. I really appreciate Chris exposing me to MOG (and Spotify), but after a couple weeks of heavy auditioning, neither are audiophile products, and if you want to do serious listening through serious gear, either will grate on the nerves in only minutes. <br /> <br /> For a walk in the park or on the beach, with an iDevice, and a pair of Koss Porta Pros, either has excellent utility if you have enough 3G bars.<br /> <br /> They're really just better mousetraps than Pandora, with appropriately higher price tags.<br /> <br /> Both need a mobile only option for me to continue to pay, $4 - $5 per month would be fair.<br /> <br /> JB
  4. Is a forum where CA members can "announce" their audiogon classifieds. John
  5. Hi Chris:<br /> <br /> Yes and iOS 4.3.5<br /> <br /> I'm still in trial period with MOG, hard to believe that could be related, though.<br /> <br /> JB
  6. on my iPhone 3GS seems to just toggle a play time bar on and off.<br /> <br /> Actually found a tutorial on the MOG site that visually demos what you describe but the repeat and shuffle buttons are not showing up on my phone.<br /> <br /> JB<br />
  7. Seems one cannot shuffle play their playlists with the MOG mobile ap.<br /> <br /> Maybe that's a little too limiting, or more likely, I missing the obvious?<br /> <br /> JB
  8. but can't help myself. My music server music experiment started almost nine years ago when I wanted to catalog about 2,000 LPS at hi rez and I started then with an early version of Wavelab: I have employed all of the following methods: (All use Basis 2800 vacuum turntable, Graham 2.2 tone arm, Koetsu Urishi cartridge) 1. TT direct to Wavelab via Lynx soundcards, first One, then 2.2 2. TT to Ayre K1x with phono stage to Lynx 3. TT to Ayre PH3 phono stage to Lynx 4. TT to Ayre PH3 phono stage to Korg MR 2000 (all Busman upgrades) All of the above methods have produced superior fidelity to Red Book CD's and my CD players during this period have either been an Ayre D1xe or an Ayre C5xe. My DAC's have been Weiss 202, Ayre QB9, Bel Canto 3, Grace m902 and m903. The results are always the same. I totally concur with GH regarding DSD, but generally listen to 24/96 or 24/192 versions for convenience. jb
  9. Is also available on my desktop.<br /> <br /> Where are they going, I can't find them.<br /> <br /> JB
  10. Chris:<br /> <br /> Firstly, many thanks for a such thorough and enlightening discussion of both services.<br /> <br /> I'm now totally addicted to testing both.<br /> <br /> Now for a dumb question, where do the "offline" tunes reside on one's HD?<br /> <br /> JB
  11. To Spotify, jhbcpa at gmail dot com.<br /> <br /> Can the the 320kbps option be set in Listen From your Computer mode.<br /> <br /> Thanks,<br /> <br /> JB
  12. Noticed an ad here for the first time. Is it OK, is there a policy? How about a new forum for "items for sale" JB
  13. Can it be completely disabled?
  14. My music server experiment started eight years ago when I wanted to catalog about 2,000 LPS at hi rez and I started then with an early version of Wavelab on a WIN XP system: I have employed all of the following methods: (All use Basis 2800 vacuum turntable, Graham 2.2 tone arm, Koetsu Urishi cartridge) 1. TT direct to Wavelab via Lynx soundcards, first One, then 2.2 2. TT to Ayre K1x with phono stage to Lynx 3. TT to Ayre PH3 phono stage to Lynx 4. TT to Ayre PH3 phono stage to Korg MR 1000, further processing done in Wavelab (on Mac in WIN7 virtual machine via VMWare fusion) All of the above methods have produced superior fidelity to Red Book CD's and my CD players during this period have either been an Ayre D1xe or an Ayre C5xe I've used # 4 exclusively since switching to Mac's and have had the MR1000 upgraded with the Busman stuff. Check it out on the Korg website. It's much more convenient than going straight to the computer, you can run Audiogate without Twitter and the output is excellent. If you are set on going straight to Mac, check out Pure Vinyl on the Channel D site. JB
