  1. I saw these sticks, by Oyaide, but have not tried and never read comments on them. https://www.audiohobby.eu/en/for-headphoneearphone/14710-oyaide-cleaning-stick-for-electric-ul-outlet-ac-iec-plug-set6-pcs-cleaning-stick-ec.html
  2. Thank you all for your input, it is very helpful and makes sense to me. It is clear to me now that I should and will do tests. My LPS is a Paul Hynes. Best,
  3. Hi All, I am seeking advice on the benefit of powering a LPS with a dedicated AC circuit. As I understand it, and I stand to be corrected, the quality of the DC produced by a LPS is not dependent on the quality of the AC feeding the LPS. I am planning to add an AC circuit dedicated to powering my amplifier and wonder, while I do this, whether I should gain anything, sound-wise, by adding another circuit dedicated to powering my LPS, which powers other components. I would not use top-of-the-line circuit breakers (like Gigawatt), wire (like Furutech or Oyaide) and outlets (like Audience) due to budget constraints, but nevertheless quality ones. Your input will certainly be welcomed. Best,
  4. Hi All, Here is something that I picked up on AS (when it was CA) about 6 or 7 years ago. You may find it helpful. Best,
  5. FYI, if that is of any interest to you, the power draw of this SSD is [email protected], as per Timetec. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08GJCS69D/ref=sw_img_1?smid=A23AD5LOJUVSEP&psc=1
  6. Thanks, AudioDoctor. Looks like the topic of the quality of SSDs has been put to bed.
  7. Hi All, Has anyone heard of or have experience with Timetec SSDs? I have gone through the Forums on HHDs and SSDs and, unless my memory fails me, I do not recall reading about Timetec. Your input will be appreciated. Best, Gilles
  8. Thank you, Matt. I see that my questions were not clear. I certainly understand that I do not need support for 3.5 if I have no problem, but what if I do have problems? I remember that Manuel said that they will continue to support 3.5 but I did not hear any indication of how long. Has anyone heard how long will Damien continue to provide support for 3.5 once Audirvana Studio is available? Can we run Audirvana Studio with High Sierra? Also, just thought of this, as I run High Sierra and 3.5 on a 32GB SD card (they make 19.03GB in total), it would be relevant to me to know how many GB Audirvana Studio has. Not that I need to know all this now, as I will wait for comments from users of Audirvana Studio before making a decision on whether to buy it. Best, Gilles
  9. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro running A3.5 and High Sierra, can't run a more recent OS on this computer. I listened to the Facebook Live and did not hear how long they will support 3.5 and which is the oldest OS they will support. Audirvana's website has also not been updated with their new offering. Does anyone has a clue?
  10. The purpose of this post is to publicly thank Superdad for his very prompt handling and resolution of the problem I had. Two days ago, I replaced the LPS 1 which was powering a ISO Regen with the new LPS1.2, and all that I could then hear coming out of my speakers were repetitive short sounds, like a machine gun fired at irregular intervals. I tried to resolve my problem, but to no avail. I then emailed Superdad, seeking his help, and I received a reply from Superdad no more than 9 hours later. We scheduled a telephone appointment for tonight. He called me on time and patiently guided me through the moves to solve my problem. He also took time to explain the reasons for my problem, in simple terms. Again, thank you very much Alex. Your sales support is truly remarkable. We should all be grateful to have a contributor here of his generosity and care for customers. Gilles
  11. Great story, thanks! I always loved this song, a classic. This song has something that always made me think of other music but I could never tell which one. That was until about a week ago, when I read that A Whiter Shade of Pale is an adaptation of JS Bach's Air on a G String. I then knew that I had just found that other music. My source: Eric Siblin, author of this book on Bach's cello suites https://www.amazon.ca/Cello-Suites-Casals-Baroque-Masterpiece/dp/0802145248. I read it on page 252 of the pocket book edition in French, in the chapter on the 5th suite. I have no connection with E Siblin.
  12. Good day to all, I thought some of you might be interested in this. You can listen (on ICIMusique.ca) and watch (on medici.tv) the concert that will be given tonight by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Charles Dutoit (his first time conducting the orchestra since he left in 2002), with Martha Argerich. The program is as follows: Berlioz, Roman Carnival Overture, Op. 9 (approx. 8 min.) Beethoven, Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15 (approx. 36 min.) Stravinsky, Petrushka (1911 original version) (approx. 34 min.) Ravel, La valse (approx. 13 min.) The concert will be rebroadcast on ICIMusique.ca on Feb 22 at 8pm, and be available until February 2017. Go to Live Concert Streaming | Orchestre symphonique de Montréal to find the links to the broadcast. Enjoy! Gilles
  13. I learned a lot about digital photography on KenRockwell.com: Photography, Cameras and Taking Better Pictures. You will find numerous articles in his section How To Take Better Pictures. You may also want to check Mike Browne Photography Courses, Workshops & videos. Have fun! edit: here the link to K Rockwell's review of your camera: Fuji X100T Review.
