  1. Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions. I've purchased the Neutron, USB Audio recorder, Gizmo and Archos video apps. I also have the Seagate Media app installed to stream from my wifi enabled hard drive. All of my videos are 720p HD with AC3 encoding and only the Archos Apps seems to like that. The Seagate app allows me to set the Archos app as my default video player which works perfectly. I can't seem to get the Neutron app to do the same but on the one or 2 files (Esperanza Spalding's Little Fly) it decodes 24/96 flac files apparently without downsampling to 44/16. I'm still playing around but the Neutron music player is great and probably what I will use most when traveling and I don't have a wifi connection and certainly not an LTE or other data connection. Has anyone else tried to stream from wifi with that app or better yet tried the Seagate Wireless plus? The Gizmo app is also great. It's what I'll probably be using when I do have a wifi connection to use. I didn't get the LTE version of the Nexus 7. I wouldn't use that connection much anyway. I also bought a PNY version of an MHL to HDMI adapter but it didn't appear to work and I've found not settings for the tablet or players to out video. Has anyone tried the Slimport yet?
  2. I just purchased a Google Nexus 7 2 tablet. I've downloaded some better audio software (Neutron) and some video software (Archos for HD UPnP DLNA) and have a few more questions about topics I couldn't find answered on the various forum threads. Has anyone tried connecting a USB Dac via the MHL connectors? I haven't found much information on the best way to connect and a search on the internet didn't show any direct connection cable options (MHL to USB Mini) or if I wanted to connect to a TV a MHL to HDMI. I did find a few adapters online for the latter. I'm looking to replace my current USB Dac (iBasso D6) with something newer (Meridian Explorer or ADL X1). The X1 would be a better solution for me since it has a built in battery and line in but I may want the Explorer for work where I don't have the same concerns. Any experience with the ADL or other suggestions. Do I need special software (USB Audio Recorder Pro) to get my 24/96K audio files to either of these devices from my Nexus? Does anyone also have experience with good DLNA compliant streaming software for Android devices. I have a Seagate wireless Plus 1TB HDD that can stream via Wifi but a lot of the software I found so far including Seagate's either doesn't support many formats or can't keep up. The Seagate software seems to be a problem with Android 4.3 but I haven't tried it on any earlier versions. I use this mainly to store HD video and music content (62GB of audio alone at 24/96K and another 90 at lossless CD quality). I just don't want to keep converting formats.
  3. I've tried both my work XP laptop and my personal laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) and I can't get ASIO4ALL installed in either so that it shows as an audio output mode under J. River Media Jukebox. I've made sure I installed it as an administrator, reviewed the PDF users manual and the Ayre set up instructions but I'm still not having any luck. Do you have any other suggestions?
  4. Thanks, Mike. I'm currently using Media Monkey so I hope I don't have to change. I also understand JRMC also has a lot of audiophile capabilities and can be used with ASIO4ALL.
  5. I've recently purchased a portable DAC/headphone amp that can accept 24/96 USB input for use with the work laptop (HP Elitebook 8530p) my company provides and on the road with my portable media player (analog input only on the PMP). I bought this DAC/amp specifically for work and on the road rather than at home but I'm having problems outputting 24/96 on the work computer. I've tried the unit on my personal laptop (HP Dv7-1270us with full 24/192 output SPDIF, HDMI) set at 24/96 and it sounds great with HDTracks downloads. All I can get on the work laptop is 16/44. Even though I have XP SP3 there are no options to alter the output. Is this a driver restriction or a hardware problem? I've tried the Thesycon and another Async USB driver but they won't recognize the device. Any suggestions?
