  1. Mavericks with 1.5.10 brought more musicality to my system. Still deciding on direct mode or not. Amazing that all these software updates/changes still bring these subtle but important improvements to digital playback. Very curious about damiens next update and response to mavericks.
  2. I'm using audirvana plus with direct mode for some time now, my system consists of an imac late 2007, Tentlabs B-DAC (usb), Rotel Power Amp, B&W 804s. Before upgrading to Mountain Lion last week it played through Snow Leopard, with SL it played with some little bugs in the beginning, switching bitdepth for example, as updates continued they went away. With ML it plays even more beautiful and no bugs, with both OS I've never had any kernel panic. Direct Mode and Integer Mode was always on. The Imac runs on 3gb memory, and even when using photoshop (not for critical listening) at the same time, everything played without any hickups, clicks, pops or crashes. Just to report, this user is as happy as can be, Audirvana Plus sounds beautiful and I wish Damien a happy and well deserved vacation, thanks for any further improvements and updates!
  3. My first post here, hello to all. When I play integer trough Audirvana as well as Bitperfect out of the USB from my older imac I get the ticking, clicking, popping sound which is discribed in some other threads on the web. If I disable integer and restart, the clicking is gone, but integer seems to be the way to go. I red about using a hub which would eliminate those sounds from hitting the DAC, since I didn't had a hub at hand, I've tried the usb of my keyboard, which normally is used for mouses, etc. Somehow the keyboard acts as a hub and the anoying sounds are gone. At the moment I still use a cheap usb cable, but I might upgrade it soon. A problem might be, the inferior usb line which runs from the computer to the keyboard and by that upgrading to any better cable would be of no use... Pure music advises to use no hub at all for best reproduction, to check out their software I downloaded the demo version, but somehow I can't output integer to my dac with it, it somehow doesn't recognise the dac integer, as well as hog, capability. In the logs of bitperfect and audivana it states that integer is active at the moment of playing and the dac is recognized as being capable of doing integer. Should I buy a hub to solve this problem, or does someone has a better option for me... I use a Tentlabs b-dac (great dac), OS is snowleopard, mac is from 2007/8
