  1. What are we going to do when our movies, T.V., and audio is all wireless? I heard Monster is already thinking about marketing some O2 tanks so that we can make our air better for the sound to travel across. Then, somebody is going to quad the price of Monster and go with Nitrous Oxide. The average male starts to have hearing loss around age 35 and increases each year to death (H.S. physiology book, or maybe wikipedia now). Yes, I have spent more than I should for cables over my 54 years, but cables, power cords I truly believe are pure snake oil. My support for this hypothesis is I Roger Russell at McIntosh (the U.S. equiv. to Acuphase?), with Roger having quite more of an education about sound then anyone on this board. Look at his website, then if you really think you can hear the difference (remember Pavlov's Dog), then I say go ahead and spend your money, help the economy for us. Maybe we could solve the deficit. The teenagers putting Monster cable in their cars, then fart pipes to make it extra clean sound. In addition, you and those followers can get rich for hearing the difference and take on the following bet to those reviewers at Audiophile (I also would like their hearing test results, these cats are older than me), for "James Randi offers $1 Million If Audiophiles Can Prove $7250 Speaker Cables Are Better ordinary (and also overpriced) Monster Cables. Pointing out the absurd review by audiophile Dave Clark, who called the cables "danceable," Randi called it "hilarious and preposterous." He added that if the cables could do what their makers claimed, "they would be paranormal." My take is like Roger Russell and James Randi, nobody can pass the double blind cross-over hearing test. I do believe you may hear a different sound, but not one that could not be adjusted on the front end of your pre-amp, computer, etc. If I could hear the difference (and I am in thin air), I would go for the money, but nobody has proven it to date, and like the designated hitter in baseball, this will be the debate that is part of the hobby we all enjoy.
