  1. My experience, was an ear opener! I used only two recordings to test various cables, usb, interconnects and power cords (the stock cord, a Pangea PGAC14SE and a DIY, detailed near the end of this commentary). Bill Evans and Tony Bennett's, "Young and Foolish" (this for the sibilance (or lack thereof) in Bennett's voice)and Dave Grusin's, "Mountain Dance" (for the cymbal rivets vibrating in sympathy to Harvey Mason hitting the kick drum). Having listened (on my alpha system) to both literally hundreds of times over the years, I felt that these two could be used as my reference. When I first introduced a well broken in Pangea PGAC14SE into my beta system, I clearly and distinctly heard the rivets and Bennett's voice was far less sibilant than with the stock cable. I did discern a wider and deeper soundstage with the Pangea. I also tried my DIY power cable that is made with Ag plated,PCOCC copper and terminated with Ag plated contact plugs. Pitting this against the Pangea and the stock cable. The Pangea won hands down. Do cables matter, of course they do! Be it symmetry or propinquity, you can hear a difference.
