Hi Bill.My usb dac is a hotaudio bitperfect.My dac did not come with any drivers its a plug and play.I down loaded asio4all but jrmc would not upload it.Would the ks sound the same as asio?I'm not sure what these plugins do to the sound.Thanks

I have jriver up and running now.I play all output pluggins like Direct sound,Disk writer,Waveout.When i use Asio it wont let me play anything...it keeps telling me it cant play 44100hz,64bits per sample,2 channel.I set it at 16 bits but it still wont play.Could it be my usb dac does not support asio?Anyone.

Hi,I have been using media monkey for a while now and liked it a lot but i have decided to try jriver.I am running a pc with xp.I have a usb dac from the pc to my stereo using analog outputs.I never used asio before but read on here somewhere it was good for xp.I tried downloading but jriver keeps saying failed to download.I also tried asio 4all with no luck.Not even sure i need it as i never used it with mm.Can you tell me if its worth it?Where to get it?Thanks

Thanks for the info Codifus.My amp is a Older sony TA-N55Es and its has a attenuator knob.I am glad to here i can use the volume on mm..it will save me from getting up off the chair when playing different tracks that a louder than others.My usb dac has a buffer stage in it and a volume control on it as well.Hotaudio Bitperfect.I will be doing some testing soon.Thank you.

Hi.I have been using media monkey for a while now and think its great.I have just purchased a new power amp that has a volume(Input)controller on it.My plan is to have my usb dac come out of my computer then go directly in the power amp...not use a preamp at all.My question is now i keep the volume @100% on mm and control the volume on my receiver..With my new power amp would i be able to control volume on mm instead?I have done it a couple time by mistake and it sounded fine on my receiver.I thought that's what made it bit perfect.Thanks for any help you can give.

I already have media monkey for my ripped wav files.Im wondering what people are using to play dvd concerts on ther pc's?Im thinkin the dvd drive is not the best way to play them.Any ideas.thanks

I just downloading Asio4all and the plugin ,which i could not get to work with media monkey.It keep on crashing my system.I have decided to down load j river mc.It seems to be working fine with the Asio4all and pugin.Now i just have to get used to a new interface.Oh well ,could be worst.maybe i will happy with the new sound?Has anyone had problems with Asio4all and media monkey?thanks

Hi,lizard king.I am running xp so i guess i need the Asio4all.Im using media monkey because i like the interface and could not tell the difference in sound between mm/j river/winamp.All my files have been ripped my cd's to wav files so i guess its all 16 bit.Thanks

Thanks for the advice Chris.I am using media monkey.I have tried them all since there free(well mostly free).I think mm has the best interface and as far as the sound i really could not tell the dif.My usb dac is only 16 bit but i can always upgrade later as the 24 bit files become available.Thanks

Hi,Abstraction.Did the Asio usb sound better than the Asio4all?Was it easier to set up?The last thing i want is to have to change all the setting and stuff.If Asio gets complicated i will just use the kmixer the way it is.I dont really mind the sound the way things are now.I just thought if the Asio4all made it better and it was easy i would try it.

Hi,I an running a pc with media monkey and a usb dac which i think sounds great.Im wondering if i need to run Asio?My system is not crashing or anything like that.I am playing only wav files, that are 16 bit.I have read that you only need Asio drvers if your trying to play 24 bit tracks.Is there any truth to that?
