  1. I've tried my cd players optical out and it does lock upon powering up to 44,1. So I do guess it is not the DAC, which is the good news. It is a long shot i'm aware but could it be that with the V-Link the DAC is indeed playing at a higher resolution but simply not indicating so? Is there any (simple) way of testing that? Thanks again, Marinus
  2. Hi Paul, Thats indeed my worst fear. The dac locks on to 41.1 when fed through the USB input, so that works. I could try the DVD player. How would that work? As far as I know DVD's are 48 kHz right? I could connect my CD player through SPDIF and see if it switches to 41.1. If so, would that mean the V-Link is faulty ro could it be something else? All help is appreciated. Thanks! Marinus
  3. Hi All, I just can't get the DAC to lock on to the V-Link other than at 48 kHz. As soon as I plug in my laptop, even without Foobar running, the DAC 48 khz led burns. When I play a 96 kHz or 41.1 file it does not switch. I have tried everything, KS, Wasapi, Asio. They all play but no indication other then 48kHz. Can you please help? Many thanks, Marinus
  4. Hi All, Thanks for your advise! I decided on a MF V-Link as well. I've got it playing and so far I'm pretty happy with it. There is one issue I have with it though. The DAC locks onto it at 48kHz when I hook it up. When I'm playing 41kHz file or 96kHz it just sticks to the 48kHz. Even when Foobar is indicating the correct rate in the bottem bar. Do you have any idea what is wrong? And is the DAC sampling the files up or down to 48 kHz? Many thanks for your advise! Marinus
  5. Hello All, I'm new to this forum but reasonably underway with computer audio, (thanks to this forum . I have a Moon 300d DAC and Dell laptop with USB out only. I would like to know if adding a USB / SPDIF converter will give a better sound quality over the standard USB input of the DAC when you do not play high res files. Many thanks for your advise
