  1. I have a Synology DS261j NAS. It is connected via network to DAC Gustard R26 which has an internal streamer. A 3 TB USB drive is connected to the NAS. I play through MinimServer which is installed on the NAS, controlled with BubbleUPNP mobile app. However, MinimServer does not see the external USB drive. It only sees disks on the NAS. Is there any way to set the MinimServer to see the USB drive? The disk is visible in the Synology file manager application, and Roon can see it on another computer, as well as on the network. Second question: The sound is great. However, DSD files and PCM HiRes interrupt a lot. I guess the CPU in the NAS is too weak. Which Synology NAS would be powerful enough to play DSD and PCM HiRes files?
  2. I have occasional power distortions, which are most often heard as a harsh sound, and sometimes as a loss of dynamics. Distortions are not permanent and are difficult to locate. But by buying a Shunyata Venom filter, the problem is 90% gone. So I know the problem is with the power supply and not with the ethernet network for example. I would like to locate the cause of the interference, if it is a home device. With what device can harmonic distortions of 230 V AC be measured?
  3. Does anyone know the cross-sectional area of the original SoTM wires?
  4. This is very important. I reboot 3 times Eunhasu to make sure. For me, 100BaseT has a calmer, cleaner and clearer sound.
  5. I have SoTM SMS 200 Ultra and SPS 500. 2 USB drives are connected to them. The SMS 200 Ultra has an LMS installed, which I use, and I manage the Orange Squezze mobile application. So the server is internal, Eunhasu. The SMS 200 Ultra is connected via a network cable to the Netgear switch and further to the WiFi router. The router is the noname I received from the operator. I don’t understand enough how streaming works. Since the music is on USB drives, it makes sense to me that the network does not affect the SQ in any way. However, when I change the switch, or even just the power supply from the switch, differences in sound are heard. Also, when I connect SMS 200 Ultra to the router via WiFi connection, the sound is also different (worse). Given the above, I guess the router could also affect the sound. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, which entry router would you recommend? What matters to me is not the speed of the router, nor the number of network ports, but only the SQ. Second, what network configuration is best for SQ?
  6. Can anyone recommend me a high quality, not to expensive switching power supply 230C AC / 12V DC, about 15A?
  7. DAC is L.K.S. Audio MH-DA004 Dual ES9038pro. DPLL is option on the screen, with values 1-15. DPLL 1 means the input signal is perfect without significant jitter. In this case the sound is best and very clear. When the input signal has more jitter, the input can not be unlocked, or the noise is heard, or music is skipped. In this case, the DPLL is lifted until the sound stabilizes. However, the higher DPLL adds blur to the sound. It is with me all PCM formats DPLL at 1 (slight jitter) and with DSD signal from 6 to 8. However, with DSD material, blur in the sound is hardly noticeable.
  8. With Audioquest Cinnamon 0.6 m, I bought Worldwide Ultraviolet 7 0.3 m. The cable connects the USB bridge and DAC with I2S connection. DAC is ESS 9038 and has the DPLL setting option. When the signal is poor, DPLL increases from 2 to 15, and the sound gets more blur. When the signal is perfect, DPLL is at 1 and the sound is the clearest. In that sense, there is no difference between the cables. All PCM files, including 24/192 run without error, and DPLL can be on 1. DSD material searches for DPLL between 6 and 8. But the difference in sound is more than obvious. WW has a dense, rich mid-range area, and the stage is slightly ahead. They were very expressive. Violins have good microdynamics and timbars. AQ is more transparent, with more air, the stage is slightly withdrawn. Extremes are more pronounced. The sound seemed to be more resolute, but in the middle there are fewer bodies. AQ has a bit more overall dynamics. Which cable is better? Cables sound different, both have good and bad sides. It's hard to decide who's better.
  9. AQ Diamond is currently too expensive for me, unfortunately. Given the position within the setup, I think the HDMI cable is at a critical point, between the USB bridge and the DAC, and the signal is time-sensitive I2S. Network cables are at the beginning, between NAS and switch and between switch and SOtM SMS 200 Ultra. I think the network protocol is not so sensitive to jitter as I2S. Or am I mistaken?
  10. Guys, thank you for your answers. It's about transferring the digital I2S signal. They say it is very important that the cable is as short as possible. I decided to try the WW Ultraviolet 7 length of 0.3 m. The USB bridge is on the DAC, I hope I can bend the cable. I'm also interested in an ethernet cable. I'm currently using AQ Cinnamon. If WW Chroma is better, then I'll try Chroma, or even better WW.
  11. I need to connect Singxer SU-1 and LKS 004. I currently use Audioquest Cinnamon HDMI 0.6m. However, Nordost Valhalla AES / EBU sounds better, more dynamically, with better microdynamics. But, AES / EBU does not play a DSD signal. So I'd like to try a better and shorter HDMI cable. I double up between Wireworld Ultraviolet 0.3m, or Audioquest Carbon 0.3m. These cables are similar in price.Wireworld uses 24 AWG wires. Does anyone know which wire thickness uses AQ in the Carbon HDMI cable?Has anyone compared the sound of these two cables?
  12. I have a home router, then a main home switcher, then a local swicher for network deployment to the main swicher on the one hand, and on the other hand to TV, NAS, Sotm SMS 200 Ultra. Sound quality is quite oscillated. Can oscillations in SQ be removed with SoTM Lan Isolator, or any other device? If I could, where is the Lan Isolator best placed? My NAS has an ordinary wall power adapter. Would it be worth buying IFI DC iPurifier, or the like? In NAS I have 2 HDDs WD Green. Is 84W how much iPurifier is enough for NAS with disks? Please refer to how to improve SQ.
  13. I have SoTM SMS 200 Ultra streamer and Sinology DS216i NAS. Of the available servers (I do not have Roon), the best thing for me is the Logitech media server because it has the best dynamics. However, LMS does not support native DSD files in an official version. Allegedly there is an unofficial version of LMS 7.8. which is supported by DSD. I found a web site where different versions of LML 7.8 can be downloaded. But I do not know what I need and how to install it on NAS: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v7.8.0/ Can anyone help me either?
