  1. I went to balanced output because of my diy DAC. The discrete balanced out sounds a bit better than the op amp SE out. The SE out from the pre amp connects to two subs as I have a large space and the nether frequencies need a bit of help for dubstep and organ music. Anyway, I use Signal Cables Analog II balanced cables between DAC and pre amp and a diy set of XLR's using Belden shielded cable to the amp (around 16 feet / 4.9 meters long). No hum or buzz.
  2. You must of heard the one about the [fill in the blank] that took up high powered rifle target shooting. He bought the best gear, read all the books and signed up for a target match. He aimed and shot down range only to be told by the spotter that he missed. The target puller down range confirmed the target wasn’t hit. He tried a couple more shots with the same results, target missed. He thought about it for a moment, put his finger over the end of the muzzle and pulled the trigger which promptly blew the tip of his finger off. He yelled down range, "Everything’s fine here, the problem is on your end!"
  3. Back in the day I knew some that sold both. Win - win....lol
