  1. Thank you Snowmonkey & Wgscott for your original replies! My thread wasn't intended to create any anti-Apple feeling on this forum!! Cheers
  2. Hi I'm looking to add a 2nd iTunes account to my existing NZ iTunes account. How do I create a US iTunes account and still keep my NZ account. Many thanks in advance. Mark
  3. Thanks Mike; yes, it answers my question! Cheers.
  4. It's the first generation with the 160g hard drive.
  5. I'm looking to improve the playback option when using iTunes. My question is: If I purchase BitPerfect does it just remain "local" to my Mac laptop, or will I receive the improvements if I sync music files to my Apple TV serve and iPhone 4s? Thanks in advance Mark
  6. Hi, Has anyone had any experience, good or bad(!), with one of these DACs? Looking for a stand-alone DAC; one without a pre-amp section. Will be used with an Apple TV generation 1; CA 840A V2 amp; Castle Knight 1s & two REL Quake subs. Or any other DACs within the same price level. Many thanks in advance. Mark
  7. Could the new A/Q Dragonfly be used to improve my system: Apple TV gen 1(AIFF music files) > A/Q Optilink 3 cable > DACMagic+ > A/Q Colorado XLRs > Cambridge 840aV2 amp > A/Q Rockefeller s/cables > Jamo speakers + 2 REL Quake subs. Any advice appreciated. Mark
  8. Many thanks to all the suggestions, regarding glass. But have gone for the Audioquest Optilink 3 cable.
  9. I'm seeking advice and optical cable options between an Apple TV gen 1 & DAC. Budget to be up to US100-150. Thanks in advance.
  10. Many thanks for your comments; Bill that was a great & informative report from Paul...thanks for forwarding that on.
  11. I'm looking for a music server to add to my hi-fi system. Have previously considered the Mac mini(base model), but my budget cannot reach to that level. As an alternative I'm considering the Apple TV gen 1, as I want to sync all my iTunes music files(AIFF) to its hard-drive, and use that as a hi-fi front end. Any advice on this choice, or others would be appreciated. Mark
  12. Have decided to use my ipod Touch (gen.3) as a music server for my music system. My question is, how to get the very best sound from it. Current system parts are: standmounted Jamos; 2 REL quakes; CA840a V2 amp; Stello U2 converter. AQ cables. Ultimate Outlet power conditioners. My "idea" is to go this way: Touch(digital output)>its own cable with USB type B plug adapter to connect to the U2>AQ Hawkeye digital coaxial>"balancedDAC">AQ balanced Colorado>CA 840a amp>AQ Rockefeller speaker cables>Speakers + subs. Would appreciated any advice, improvements and DAC to this system. Mark
