  1. Dear all, Is there anybody having some experience with convolution engine (BruteFIR) within the latest Daphile version? Since the output is at the fixed sample rate I am interested what determines this fixed sample rate. Is this the sample rate entered by the user or is the sample rate of the filter used (prepared with DRC or Acourate)? Which CPU is the minimum requirement? Thank you. Regards.
  2. Dear kipeta, I would kindly ask you for a quick tour how-to use convolution filtering feature (BruteFIR). There is always the trial and error way to learn but I would still prefer a few words of how-to instructions to use the feature in a proper way (how it is intended to be used). Thank you. I am a happy user of Daphile for nearly two years. I appreciate your work very much. I am looking forward to test the last version as soon as possible. Best regards.
  3. Dear Miska, I am interested in the HQ Player/NAA combination setup. I would like to install a demo Win version of HQ Player on my HP Probook. Whereas the role of the NAA would be played by an Atom (DN2800MT) PC. I hope I could do the Win installation without much issues. However, I cannot get any documentation how the NAA should be set up/installed. I have read some users were talking about a bootable USB-drive that you prepared for them. Is there some ISO for NAA included in installation demo version package? What would be the simplest way to convert the PC into NAA? Thank you very much. Best regards.
  4. Hi Marcin, I would like to ask you in what way will the connection/communication between the PC and tablet change with Win 8? At the moment (with Win 7), one can use a tablet for a remote control of a PC via remote desktop protocol. The other option is webcontrol of certain applications like JRMC. What are the options under Win 8? Thank you. Bye, Borut.
  5. thank you toddbagwell for your description. Interesting idea of having a fan switch.... best regards.
  6. Thank you mithcho, Interesting....I have also in mind using a computer as a ''universal'' transport - for audio as well as video playback. I saw the JRiver has now also the capabilities of Blu ray disc playback. Have you any experience with that? Is it possible to setup different audio output modes for exclusive audio playback or during the video session? I mean, is it possible to setup the HDMI auido output for video playback and WASAPI/ASIO/KS for audio playback? I wonder why you need so much power (520W PSU)? thanks. Best regards.
  7. Thank you pacwin for the explanation. Actually, I was thinking about universal media server, that would be capable of audio as well as video playback. Windows optimisation could be done with the option of dual boot - so each installation of Windows would be optimised for the specific purpose (audio and video). However, I am not sure whether this is the right path...as you said....I am afraid I will have to compromise something... Is there anybody with some experiences of successful ''joining'' of audio and video playback on a same computer?
  8. Hi, I have carefully read the description of building C.A.P.S. ver.1 and 2. As I could understand, the main reason of choosing the Atom based motherboard/setup is the possibility of fanless design. I wonder, however, whether Core (i3 or i5) processors, especially models with lower termal envelope (2100T, 2500T), installed in a passive heatsink (like HFX chassis or HD-Plex chassis) that also allows a fanless design, would have any benefit over Atom based procesors. I have read some opinions of lower latencies of Core processors in comparison to Atom processors, but I do not know how this influences sonic performanse of the whole setup. Once have to be aware also of higher level of noise caused by higher power consumption, am I right? I can not find any comprehensive comparison of both type of processors from the point of view of building a high end music server. So, I would like to hear your opinions or experiences. Borut.
  9. Hi Firedog, You compared Vortebox based server with a PC with Win 7 and JPlay and as I can understand, Vortebox sounds better. Do you have Sonore Server or some DIY solution? Thank you. Borut.
  10. If you are looking for a good DAC based on TDA 1541A, you must have a look at AYA DACs. Have a look at www.audialonline.com. Mr.Rogic has plenty of knowledge and his products are certainly state of the art. You would not be disappointed. Hi, Borut.
