This is the first "HD" album I've ever listened to - and I'm very confused about what it is we've actually got here. My understanding was that this is a better quality version of the same master that was released in '91. But to me it sounds like it's been completely remastered, and in most instances remastered badly. Right from the start of Enter Sandman, the guitars seem to be sitting in a different space, like they've messed with the panning. The bass sounds altered too, and then a minute into the song the snare sounds like it's got different EQ settings on it. I can't say if any of this is any better than the original - but then you get to the guitar solos and they float from speaker to speaker like there's a kid who's just discovered the pan tool. Terrible... Is there something wrong with the way my hardware is playing this, or does everyone's version sound like this? Could someone please take a listen to their version and verify that it's supposed to sound like this? The easiest spot to do a comparison is the guitar intro to The Struggle Within - where there are clearly some guitars missing in the "HD" version, at least on my hardware. (I can verify that I'm getting unique left and right channels, I haven't accidentally switched to mono...)
