  1. Hi Mitch... In your bios, under "chip configuration" (at least where the setting was for me) see if you have a "PCI Frequency Timer" setting.... Mine was set for 32, have increased it to 220, and clicks ALMOST all gone... (like 90% of them)... I believe the remaining "jumps/clicks" are from clipping of the card to to high volume output? (based on reading Creatives troubleshooting)... lowering the volume really doesn't help, but I have reduce GREATLY the number of clicks... I hope this helps you!! Thanks to all that responded!!
  2. Hi Eloise..thank you for your response! I should clarify, my sound card IS the professional version "PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Professional Audio"; NOT the consumer version... The card got "raves" on the reviews I read... Anyway, I AM using a mini-toslink adapter to my toslink cable; but I DID also try using the supplied cable (mini on one end and standard toslink on the other) and got the same results... I'm plugging into a DAC.... Back to the drawing board
  3. Hello... I just installed the Creative Titanium HD sound card... have a Gateway FX7620 computer (4 gig ram, quad core), can ONLY use a "mini-toslink to toslink" connection with this card... The card makes a "click" when switching from "game mode" to "music mode" or vice versa.. The problem is I hear the CLICK about every 30 sec to 1 minute, WHEN I'M NOT EVEN SWITCHING THE MODE; just listening to music.... It's not always the SAME click; i,e., may be caused by something else, but darned if I can figure out what. Use Foobar with Asio, and have played with ALL the cache settings.. both the cache for my Creative SB Spdif out by itself and the asio settings by themselves... NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK... it seems to click even when moving my MOUSE... Have also tried NOT using asio...went to waspi and still had same problems.. I KNOW the Gateway computer is under-powered with a 400 watt power supply... but man, can someone offer me ANY suggestions that might stop this darn CLICKING!!!????? Thanks much!!
