  1. NL = Correct. No anticipating it would matter. Sorry it did not help.
  2. Many thanks for the article and file to check. Did compare tonight with wive next to me. She also confirmed the airiness of the atmos version ( wider sound stage). Sounds how I perceive an atmos recording via my AirPods Pro 2 ( although of course , it’s a different quality) I want more of these 2.0 recordings ( have atmos able 5.1 set-up). I like the sound as well as the ability to use my higher end 2.0 system for these recordings. Any chance more 2.0 atmos recordings can be expected (preferably via streaming). As shown in the example it’s just a way of mixing and possible in high res.
  3. Hi Miska, Interesting graphs. Could you please link me to a site where i get a little explanation on the graphs.
  4. Hi All, I Have MC 18 (satisfied customer) and just also bought MC 19. Purely to be able to play DSD and convert on the fly to PCM (dont have DSD Dac yet). I assume, based on what i read, that DSD2PCM is possible with this MC19 version. I s my assumption correct?
  5. Hi Chris Thanks for the review. I am interested as i am still debating the best connection between my computer (Mac) and my Dac (superuniti). Would you prefer, from a sound quality prospective, a wired internet connection to the DAC or a USB to SPDIF connection?
  6. Hi all, I have a question on how UPNP server act/work, first some background; I have set up my system with a UPNP server as my Music source. Macmini as my computer, running a UPNP server and have a hardwire (internet) connect to my Superunit (SU) acting as streamer, DAC and amplifier. So far i have been using Plex as my UPNP server and using the SU as streamer/player. This set-up was the best sounding i could make (no USB to SU possible). Since this week i have installed the Jriver4mac latest on my Mac mini with the DNLA possibility. Here what wrote on he Jriver threat " My opinion (Jriver vs Plex, no other changes): - more air, better separation - much more details, more depth. - more fluid, far less edgy - cd/ HD sounds better then my SACD player." No my Question.I was not expecting, at all, the (big) difference in sound quality between the 2 UPNP servers programs (no other changes made to the chain). Can anyone explain in layman language why this difference exist? Thanks Frits nb: These improvements make this hobby a pleasure
  7. Been using the latest Jriver as UPNP/DLNA server for couple of days now. WOOW, what a difference with Plex as UPNP server... My opinion (Jriver vs Plex, no other changes): - more air, better separation - much more details, more depth. - more fluid, far less edgy - cd/ HD sounds better then my SACD player. - Jremote/jriver DLNA works with my Naim superuniti So all i all, i have to listen to all my albums all over again, BIG smile. Some minor clitches (but Hey its a alfa version). - Not all artwork is being copied from iTunes to jRiver (± 1%) - jremote stops connection to jriver for 15 seconds after selecting new song. - Jremote seems to repeat every second songs it plays. If more feedback is needed i am willing to give. All in all a happy computeraudiophile. Frits
  8. Hi Jriver Thanks for the DLNA update. Was waiting for that one. Will test it asap (with Naim superuniti)
  9. Hi all, also one of the happy few (or more already) that downloaded JR (and bought it). Í added a couple of Directories via add to library. I have a few Q's; - Is JR populating a new library? where can i find this library? Can I just refer to my itunes library instead of making a new one?) - Does UPNP work already? Dont see the JR library (or reference to it) in my Naim (use PLEX for now, but would like JR to do the job) - Is a quick tutorial available for people like me. Never used JR on a windows Thanks. JR: thanks for this first glance!
  10. Seems like interesting gear. Having the superuniti as my main DAC/amp, this QutehD would do the DSD material (which I still have to get ) Anyone had a listen to the QuteHD and compared it? (I have seen test on the internet but am interested what U people think as well)
  11. I have tested XBMC, and playback. Skipped iSedora because of price and bad reviews. XBMC: Did not show music. Less user friendly then Plex (albiet same programm family) Playback: it works, but the interface was far worse then PLEX. It did play particular tracks i could not play via plex. (see below) For a strange reason some files, albeit recognized by plex, did not play via the n-stream app of Naim. The workaround turned out to be to re-make the files with Max (just taking the unplayable FLAC or ALAC file and Remaking a ALAC file of it). This made the all playable on plex. So for now i am happy with Plex as my UPNP server. Can recommend it.
  12. Hi David, Took a while but i got all wired fired up. Now also 24/192 files play with no hick-ups. I am imagining it even sounds better! :-) But that also holds for the streaming radio (radio Paradise 320 kb/s).
  13. Then we agree, the Superuniti reports correct. btw: Plex does a OK job on OSX. It combines the same artist at different drives and formats. Pretty enthousiastic about it. I will give XMBC, Playback and iSedora a look as well.
  14. Hi Bleedink I would expect that XBMC or PLEX would only be used to localise the files for my UPnP player. I use the superuniti as the player. PLEX is not in any way involved in reproducing the music. Or am i wrong on this?
