  1. Have you considered Stax headphones? I have their SR-L500 set with the SRM 353X driver/amp which I use this in a home office with Qobuz/Roon. I consider the sound to be very good with both classical and jazz - very fast and detailed with a sweet mid-range emphasis. The phones are very comfortable - can wear for hours without fatigue - but they are open which may be an issue. Mark
  2. Many thanks. For some reason I though it was just an equalizer. I'll give it a go. Mark
  3. My wish for a future Amarra product, while we are revisiting the itunes integration route, would be to separate the Amarra sound engine entirely and present it as a kind of "virtual sound card" in which the output of any music app, such as iTunes or the Qobuz app, could be captured and directed through the engine and controlled at a basic level, such as a system preference for example. I love the Amarra sound, which for me is the best on my mac, but the database, memory handling and aspects of the interface leave a lot to be desired, so much so that I have remained at version 3. Just wishful thinking and opinion - I guess it's that time of the year - but I would be very interested in this kind of product. Mark.
  4. June Tabor and Quercus Michael Wollny Trio At Cork Jazz Festival two weeks ago. Both great gigs but Quercus were stunning.
  5. No Problems here but I'm using Audirvana as the player.
  6. I was lucky to see Little Feat at the Rainbow in London in 1977 - Mick Taylor joined them on stage for a couple of numbers. Still really miss that line-up. Mark
  7. I put a 500 gig Samsung 850 EVO SSD in mine and it operates flawlessly - fast and quiet as expected. Mark
  8. I have been listening to this recent version and it's pretty special. Mark.
  9. Look's like we have a brief reprieve and hopefully a solution: Update on the current situation of Qobuz | The Qobuz Blog Mark.
  10. I tried Version 3.03 yesterday with the new Punch Brothers album and using the SD card/RAM Disk options (discussed at length in other threads). It worked well with a very nice albeit different sound quality from version 2.54 - maybe a little more top end emphasis but the decent bass and sweet mids from the older version are still there. I'll have to live with it for a bit but feel positive so far. This version is also more stable than the older one on my set-up, better behaved regarding skipping and pausing. So far, so good - many thanks for the recommendation. Mark
