I'm totally new here, just joined, don't know all the protocol.
I'll throw it right out there and ask why a computer should
be tasked with playing "Hi-end audio". It can't
I don't hate digital, it's gotten a lot better. But, here are the specs for the only digital
solution for my digital/analog system [the BurrBrowns I think are the key — only if the
mixing used them too: Anywhoo
MOON CD5.3:
· Separate digital and analog power supplies using two toroidal power transformers with eight
stages of DC voltage regulation
· Internal upsampling with 24-bit/352.8kHz processing
· BurrBrown BB1730E high-resolution 24-bit/192-kHz DAC and 8X oversampling digital filter
· Philips based transport mechanism using in-house developed control software
· Accurate 50PPM digital clocking system
· Advanced analog signal path using a DC servo circuit and proprietary 6dB/octave
A computer [mine, Apple] sol'n eludes me. I've broadcast in this way for edification.
I'm sure there's something out there that's actually good — not that it works!
