  1. $1200 is a bit much. I was thinking maybe $500-$600. I don't really need all the other computer features, either, even a screen. I've looked into the Archos 49 tablet, which only holds 500GB, but it seemed to get bad reviews as to reliability. I may look into a FiiO E7 USB DAC, and a bare bones netbook, but can such a compter run iTunes?
  2. I have an iMac-based music server with close to 1TB of music at home. But, I'm in my car a lot, and I'd like a second music server for use on the road. Additionally, I am a part-time DJ at a local college radio station and would like to have a portable server for demoing music at fellow DJ's houses. Here's what I'm looking for: 1. Large data capacity, say 1TB. 2. Ability to use iTunes, or at least synch up with my home iTunes library easily. 3. Remote control with my iPhone. 4. Ability to be powered by 12V in a car or with an AC adapter. 5. Ability to connect to 3.5mm minijack AUX-in on car stereo. 6. Decent sound. Essentially, a super iPod. One idea I had was a small netbook with attached USB hard drive. I could remove the HDD and bring it into the house or radio station to add music. Power it from a 12V jack in the car and use the headphone output to drive my car stereo AUX input. Maybe add a USB DAC for better sound. It doesn't have to be pretty. It could be kept in a small bag or I could just duct tape the damn thing together! I just want something relatively portable. I'm not looking for a hardwired car audio streamer, new head unit, etc. Any ideas on different setups, brands, etc?
