UpTone Audio EtherREGEN Listening Impressions
hifiveharry replied to mourip's topic in UpTone Audio (Sponsored)
I have my Uptone JS2 powering my Etherregen and love it. BUT I had an extra DC power tap. That made me try an After dark AfterDark Empress Sig Clock , which was REALLY great! That made me move up to the AfterrDark EVA clock. WOW again! I was smitten with digital for the first time. Well, next came a used Transparent XL clock cable !!!! No turning back. Lastly I found a used Omega USB cable into my Lampizator. Now, thanks to Qobuz , every time I listen, it's like the old days of walking into a record store. I get to hear so many artists I would never know of. Music is so fun again. -

Afterdark Emperor Signature clock View Classified Around a month ago I bought the Emperor Signature clock from Afterdark. I just had to see if an external clock made THAT much difference. I already had a Etherregen and a JS 2 power supply, so it was simple and worked perfect from the first install. I was blown away what it did in my system! After 1 week of letting it settle in, I ran to my computer and ordered their top clock ( the Eva ). It came yesterday, so I'm going to move the Emperor Signature to the next lucky audiophile. It comes with a clock cable and a dc power cord but you will need a 12 volt power supply. I have tons of perfect feedback on Audiogon under hi5harry and I will ship it anywhere in the US and no extra charge for Paypal. I have all the original packing and the graph on this clock( which tests out fantastic). Seller hifiveharry Date 03/03/22 Price 825.00 USD Category Digital to Digital Converters

First, thank you so much for helping. My system goes modem into B side ER ( ER powered by LPS 1.2), Out A side of ER to SGC i9( by ethernet cable ), then out of I9 optically to OpticalRendu (powered by JS 2). The external clock is also powered by the other leg of the JS 2 and goes clock to ER, then out the OR ( by usb) to my Lampizator dac. I must say, this configuration sounds fantastic just as is, but I'm sure willing to change the way it's configured if it might sound even better.

USB cable comparisons
hifiveharry replied to reverendo's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
I've tried a bunch of mid priced usb cables in my system, all with different degrees of success, so I could never say which one I like the best. i do have one that may be worth a try. HAPA AUDIO is a fairly new company that just released their first usb cable, the EMBER, that they are sending around on a tour to anyone who wishes to try it out for free. It looks very interesting and is not terribly expensive. I have no affiliation with any company. I just thought it's worth a try for free.
