  1. 4.2 is out. Anyone know if the connection kit works with the iphone/touch?
  2. When I was looking at this some time ago I came across the following: http://www.ericdaugherty.com/dev/itunesexport/ and there's also a script called 'export playlist to m3u' out there somewhere
  3. http://yeahyeahyeahs.com/itsblitz/ Hopefully more artists will be taking this route. I don't want to buy CD's anymore but trying to find legal lossless downloads of new releases is next to impossible
  4. setup Bootcamp/Parallels on the Macbook, rip/download to WAV/AIFF, convert to WAV/AIFF, play the AIFF in OSX iTunes and the WAV in Bootcamp J River?
  5. I'm a mac newbie and looking to achieve something similar. If I setup multiple users and one library would it be possible for any of the users to change or delete tracks in the library? What I'd like is to have one library that only I can change or delete, other users can use the library but are only allowed to write. Is this possible? Thanks
  6. If I have the MM WaveOut settings Enable Volume then I can control the volume within MM, if I have this disabled then I can't in MM. In the XP volume window I have Speaker, Wave, SW Synth, CD Player, changing the vol in Speaker, SW Synth and CD Player has no effect, but I can change/mute the vol in Wave
  7. Just bought an ibasso D3 usb dac/headphone amp which I'm planning to use with XP at work (Macbook at home so no probs). I want to use my ipod as a hard drive, connect that to the pc, then play back out through the dac / heaphones. I tried Foobar, MediaMonkey and J River Media Center/Jukebox. I discounted Foobar as the ipod plugin has no playlist support. MediaMonkey with Asio_Out / Asio4All sounded great, unfortunately I couldn't get gapless to work, also it seems to hang between tracks (ipod). J River seems to work the way I want using the ipod/pc/dac although I'm not sure I can hear a difference between Asio4All and DirectSound, anyway it's sounding pretty good Lizard_King what are the optimal settings for Media Center / Asio / XP and is there a difference between Media Center and Media Jukebox? Thanks
  8. will check this out. Slightly left of centre is a great uk label Domino, who've just launched a download service, offering 320kps and WAV http://digital.dominorecordco.com/
  9. Is there a .m3u(?) playlist in the folder? If so, this could be the problem - you could try dragging and dropping the tracks you want from the folder to itunes
  10. I'm interested in getting a Macbook, should I go for one of the newly released models or wait for an ebay bargain on an older model? What happens to all the old unsold stock?
  11. Thanks for the info guys. I think I will look harder at the Macbook. Should I go for one of the newly released models or try 2nd hand?
  12. Hello everyone, I'm interested in setting up a computer based music system to hook up to my Naim system. At the moment I have an old laptop and an even older pc. For my ipod (classic) I have about 100gig of music in my iTunes library stored on an external hard drive. An ADSL router/modem (non wireless) is hooked up to the pc and a usb modem to the laptop. This is what I'd like to do: Setup a wireless network, maybe getting a router that allows a hard drive connection. Get a new laptop and Mac Mini Stream from the hard drive to the Mac Mini Control iTunes using laptop or iphone/touch Connect DAC from Mini to HiFi Does this sound feasible? Should I forget the laptop/Mac Mini and get a Macbook instead? If so can I install xp, how does this work? Is the Macbook noisy compared to the Mini? Any recommendations on routers I could look at? Any recommendations on DAC's that would have good synergy with a Naim system? Over at the Naim forum they're raving about the Lavry DA10, anyone have any experience with this? Thanks Ade
