  1. sticking to the topic like the above you mean ??!! you joined this site less than 2 hours ago. You posted a blathering stream of nonsense to a 5-year old topic. You’ve shown nothing but aggression since. You’re obviously an experienced troll just looking for a new place to cause trouble. On the plus side you probably now have the record for the quickest time to be put on an ignore list ! 👋 bye bye
  2. no, I’m not ‘watching it’ - but like everybody else here using the unread posts filter I could not avoid it.
  3. you do realise the original thread/ question is now 5 years old ?
  4. friend & I managed to find just 1 ticket outside the venue.. at the last minute we gave up looking for a second and tossed a coin. I won. edit: I don’t think I had actually heard the album and didn’t know what to expect, so the whole experience was quite mind-blowing. Floyd were one of the first to do the ‘big show’ so the stage/ lighting was unusual for the time, and then this enormous pig appeared overhead from the back in the dark… a life memory….
  5. shame on me, but I’ve just bought the 2-channel version on a 12” round, black piece of media… not ‘immersive’, but I am fortunate to have had the ultimate immersive experience of this album already at Wembley on 19 March 1977, including the first appearance of the inflatables !
  6. I used to have a Devialet 200 which I bought for the all in one box convenience. It was “ok” but nothing special. When I moved house and had more space I spent nearly a year touring hifi dealers to find my ideal system… the Tambaquai hit the spot for me; I found it light years better than the Devialet sound (but yes there were other changes in the rest of the system too)
  7. my Makua preamp (with Tambaquai module inside) runs hot; was told it’s quite normal. Plenty of “confirmation” on the web, including this quote from a question to Mola Mola: ”Q. Is it normal that Tambaqui runs quite hot in use? A. It is correct that the Tambaqui can run quite warm to the touch.” https://www.head-fi.org/threads/mola-mola-tambaqui-dac-and-headphone-amp.942546/page-18 (see post #270)
  8. hey Chris, you do realise that many of the ads being commented on are years out of date ? A feature of the new CA ad organisation is that all these ‘old ads’ probably appear in searches again as available, even though they’re long gone…. I just did a quick search through the main EU marketplaces, plus Audiogon plus eBay. I found just 1 Tambaquai for sale - where are the “quite a lot for sale” ?? (maybe I’m just not tuned in to other marketplace sites in other regions ? at least in EU they do come up for sale but not disproportionately IMO…)
  9. ‘aggressive’ questioning = criticism. You don’t see it that way but others do…. sadly the effect of the minority may now impact the majority who were otherwise thankful that a manufacturer chose to kindly share information like this on an internet forum. Any manufacturer who willingly chooses to share anything with us should be encouraged, not discouraged. But what they choose not to share is surely their prerogative & not to be criticised for & certainly not hounded the way it’s been done in the recent posts.
  10. people care a lot and it is happening, for example EU GDPR (Wikipedia reference): The General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, abbreviated GDPR) is a European Union regulation on information privacy in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). The GDPR is an important component of EU privacy law and human rights law, in particular Article 8(1) of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. It also governs the transfer of personal data outside the EU and EEA. The GDPR's goals are to enhance individuals' control and rights over their personal information and to simplify the regulations for international business but yes it is slow to rollout and there is inherent inertia in trying to implement such type of legislation across such a vast target as the EU, but it is not right to say people don’t care and that it won’t happen because, slowly, it is…….
  11. can you explain ? I see it as a <software product> requiring user registration, accessing a server run by the provider, who can embed nuggets in their code to collect info from you such as your hardware, your habits, your OS, location etc etc. All of the products I listed do that…. some are cheap, some expensive but I seriously can’t see what major difference there is with Roon A minor difference is that it gets potentially forced on people who buy Harmon products… but they’re no Apple.
  12. how is this different to running products like Spotify, Tidal or products like JRiver etc etc ?
  13. I think you’d better readjust your expectations - you’re replying to adverts that are 3 years old. Tread with caution and probably very unwise putting personal details online in a public forum.
  14. does this mean that the higher sample rate offerings don’t offer any added musical information ? (& that there is no point more than the version with CD sample rate ?) If so, why/ how are they offering the DSD versions on their website ?
