  1. I hope so. After contributing with donations, they banned me for apparently living in the wrong country. Not happy.
  2. I think I will officially quit the gadget race. I cannot see myself being happy with a giant iphone in one pocket, a pono in the other pocket, an iwatch on my wrist and google glasses on my head. It's all getting a bit too much. I am finding the current iphone to be all that I need. The sound quality is good enough for a portable device, storage is OK (128 GB model is available if my current 64GB model ever fills) and it is small enough. It does everything I want it to do.
  3. Now it's getting relevant. I was about to ask the same question. Probably no pre-nup if they have been married for 36 years.
  4. I stood in line behind Bono at a store in Singapore airport a couple of years ago. I was buying a packet of chips. Cannot recall what Bono bought. Others in the queue did not appear to be the types to know U2 and did not notice. I left him alone.... People can be a bit irritable half way through a string of international flights.
  5. I really doubt this. More likely scenario is that it is just not a priority for them, and necver has been. Why make a grand announcement on itunes hi-res music, when 99% of the population will say "huh? What is the point of this. I am happy the way it is." I agree with the @new_media. Time to stick a fork in it and move on.

    Pure Music 2

If I am the developer, and I make changes to improve sound quality, I am going to feature that very prominently next to the upgrade button on the web page. The fact that they did not suggests that any improvements are minimal, or that they are the unintended consequence of something else. However, as with others, I have upgraded in recognition of the improvements made in the last few years that Pure Music did not charge for. Even though I was a little underwhelmed with the new feature set of V2
  7. If it's mac, try this one: DSD Master You have to buy it through the itunes. It's working fine for me and I find it better than Korg Audiogate, which (although free) has the annoying twitter announcement everytime you convert a file.
  8. No to all (poll wants me to answer yes to something so I did not vote). Regarding the questions "Does price always equate to better quality" and "Does price always equate to better sound", I would say generally yes. However there is the law of diminishing returns. Also there are some things that cost a lot but (in my opinion) don't provide better quality/reliability or improve sound quality. So I have to answer "no" to both.
  9. I bought Amarra about 9 months ago, when I thought it clearly sounded better than any of the other options available on OSX. I no longer believe it has the edge... BitPerfect now sounds every bit as good on my system and behaves much better. I will be downloading any Amarra updates that come out, in a hope that the investment I made in Amarra will pay off again. But I am not sweating on it. BitPerfect does what I want.
