  1. Hey... I got it to work!!! I went to the little "i" and hit "Renew Lease". well that did it! Thanks a whole lot!! :-)
  2. I have a music server (Auraliti PK90) connected to a home network that I control with a Gateway Netbook, but I want to use my iPad with MPaD instead. It seems that the iPad will not connect to this wireless network unless it has an internet connection available. Is there a way around this problem. I like to keep the music stuff on its own separate network with no internet connection.
  3. Guys, the video outs do not work, they are just there from the choice of the motherboard picked. From what I have read, if you hook a monitor to them all you will get is blinking cursor.
  4. 3 USB are for input and the other 2 up top are on the USB output card that has a separate power "thingy".
  5. I am also very interested. In fact I'm close to ordering one. I put this comment in to keep it alive. Please anyone... tell us your experiences.
  6. Does anybody have an opinion on the sound comparisom to a PC/DAC? It seems that all these posts deal with different ways to sort your files. The knowledge you guys have on this is astounding, but what about the SOUND? Album art? I mostly close my eyes when listening. I'm beginning to think that computer audio is solely for computer enthusiasts who want to dream up 50 different ways to see their file lists. Where are the audiophiles in this matter? OK, OK ... don't "flame" me, I'm just trying to seek some opinions on the sound of the OPPO with a hard drive connected to it.
  7. Well, OK... 800 different artists is a lot, and I suppose a better management system is needed other than alphabetical. But still the OPPO is better than a wall of CDs. I'm still trying to pinpoint the sound quality aspect. Is it as good as a computer based USB with a DAC of decent quality (say $1,500)? I know that's about a $2K budget compared to $1K for the whole OPPO 95, but that's why I'm thinking the OPPO is so great. Also if the additional money spent on the computer system is only used for better management of the files then I'm not at that point yet, and I don't think I will be for a while. So would I just be saving some money, or would I be sacrificing on SQ ? Thanks
  8. I don't get it. My friends hard drive is in folders by artist then sub-folders of albums. The whole list of artists comes up on the TV in alphabetical order and he uses the OPPO remote to play whatever album he wants. How is this so dificult?
  9. OK, I really am wondering how OPPO does it. I mean does anybody know the process, or chain of events? Also, while being able to sort and shuffle your music 50 different ways is nice, I only want to play 1 "album" at a time with maybe some skipping of a track or two. My real quest is to get the best sound at a price point near the OPPO 95. So is a computer/DAC setup better sounding than the OPPO, or just more flexible in playing your music library? Thanks
  10. All the stuff you need to play computer audio files...ie software, computer, interface, asynchronous DACs blah, blah blah. So how does OPPO just let you hook up an external hard drive and it will play up to 24/192 files, and they basically do it for nothing as I don't know if the price would be much, if any, lower if that feature was not included? Is it not as good sounding as the full blown computer system? I have heard the OPPO 95 playing 24/192 FLAC files and it sounds great to me. So anyone in the know about this please respond.
