  1. Ugh. Do other versions – earlier or later – have the same bug? Because if this doesn't have a quick and easy fix, I'm jumping ship.
  2. This is driving me crazy. Used to be that I could freely re-organize my playlist simply by dragging the songs around, putting one track above or below, another, all as I saw fit. Worked like a charm. Then, at some point, I guess I must accidentally have pressed something in the playlist's upper row (i.e. either #, Title, Album, Artist, Composer or Duration) - and ever since, I can't pick and choose anymore. I can go from Title to Album to Artist to Composer and back again, but I can no longer freely juggle the songs around like I used to. How do I fix this?
  3. Wonderful, that's exactly the kind of info I was looking for! My German is, well, slightly above non-existent, so I think I'll figure the site out. Danke schön! As mentioned on the other forum, I'm thinking of picking an old Rega Elicit for around 700 USD, and would like to know not only if that's a decent price, but also if I could resell it in a year or two and recoup my investment, or even make a profit. Thanks again!
  4. Didn't know about that site, will check it out now though! Thank you!
  5. Yup, that was me too! ;-) (Is cross-posting like that frowned upon around these parts? I know it is on some forums.)
  6. How much would you say one could sell an original, "clamshell", first generation Rega Elicit for these days? What do they usually go for? I see there's one up for sale for almost 1800 USD, which seems, at least to me, like a total fantasy price -- I just can't imagine that they're still that much worth after all these years, even for hardcore Rega collectors. What say you, ladies and gentlemen? What would be a decent, realistic price?
  7. It's all there in the title, really: Would a NAD c326bee pair well with B&W 685's? Thanks a million!
  8. Alright, so I'm finally getting a pair of Rega R5's and a Brio-R! One final question before the fun begins: If I understand this correctly, I now have two possibilities. The first possibility would, rather simply, be as follows: Macbook Pro, via USB out > Nuforce uDAC-2 > Rega Brio-R > Rega R5. The second possibility would include streaming the music through something like the Squeezebox. With regards to sound quality, would there be a great difference between the two? A million thanks in advance! ;-)
  9. Resurrecting this thread for a follow-up question, hope you don't mind! If I understand this correctly, I now have two possibilities. Ps. Oh and once again, a million thanks in advance! ;-)
  10. Thanks a bunch! Might well go for the Rega's, then.
  11. Thank you! I do have a DAC, but it's a fairly cheap one - the Nuforce uDAC-2. Would it be an utter waste to hook it up with the R5's?
  12. OK, so I've got a choice to make and I need some advice. In one corner, a pair of second-hand ADM AVI 9.1T's for the equivalent of 910 dollars. In the other corner, a pair of second-hand Rega R5's plus a second-hand Rega Brio-R, for the equivalent of 1365 dollars. What to do, what to do?
  13. I have demo'ed the R5's - or rather, the RS5's - though not with my own music. I have not demo'ed the RX8's. Don't know which amp I'll use just yet, I'll get whatever suits the speakers I'll end up with. For the R5's, I guess the Rega Brio-R would be optimal - for the RX8's, I have no idea, haven't gotten around to that just yet. Suggestions are welcome. Oh, and I looked into Magneplanar 1.7 as well, but too many reviews seemed to indicate that they don't deal well with "busy" music, with a lot going on at the same time.
  14. I've googled around a bit, but try as I might, I have not managed to find any direct comparisons between the Monitor Audio RX8's and the Rega R5's (or the RS5's for that matter). Could someone enlighten me, preferably with more or less noob-friendly language, about the basic differences between the two, their strengths and their weaknesses?
