  1. I nearly wore out my 8 track of this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57f_aUlXf1c
  2. I was putting my daughter on a plane from Baltimore to Las Vegas and called her attention to somebody, "Hey, that guy looks like Flava Flav." Indeed it was. No, he wasn't in handcuffs ...
  3. I had tickets to see Bob Marley while I was in college. He cancelled due to health reasons. It wasn't much later that he died.
  4. Rest in peace to a master [video=youtube;2oyhlad64-s]
  5. Pete Seeger was kind of the soundtrack to my childhood. My parents had a multi-record anthology of folk music from the old Folkways Records label featuring Pete Seeger, the Weavers, Woodie Guthrie and many, many others. I loved his music and admired him as a person.

  9. In that case, I'll retract my "Rest in Peace" and change it to (from "Magic and Loss": As you pass through fire as you pass through fire trying to remember its name When you pass through fire licking at your lips you cannot remain the same And if the building' burning move towards that door but don't put the flames out There's a bit of magic in everything and then some loss to even things out
  10. I saw Lou Reed in concert at DAR Constitution Hall back in 1992. It was an awesome show, maybe the best I've seen. I felt like watching part rock star, part poet. Hard to believe he's gone. Rest in peace, Lou.
  11. Rest in peace to a truly great songwriter and musician.
  12. Patti Smith's cover of "So you want to be a rock and roll star" Tori Amos' cover of "Smells like teen Spirit"
