    Amarra 2.3

I just installed Amarra 2.3. It has a MUCH cleaner appearance than 2.2. My only complaint is concerning the "turn on" turn off" method for album artwork and metering. This is done by clicking on barely visible "x"s three of which are on the control panel. It still has somewhat difficult integration with Airport and Apple remote, and remote control requiring other software(iremote) to work. I have compared it side by side on the same system with Pure Audio. Both are good but sonically Amarra is, for lack of better words, "smoother" and fuller in sonic texture and depth. I have not tried it on all genres yet. I have used it at 44khz to 192. I have no 384khz sources. Amarra's price point is still high but the new price a more accessable. I purchased Pure Audio for my first setup because of the price point. Now I'd get Amarra. Another plus is the ability to install on two computers for personal use. I have one set up on my server and another on my dedicated "High End" system. Equipment: Mac Pro Tower(server), new Mac Mini dedicated to audio system , Mac OSX Lion on both , DIY B-1, Weiss DAC2, various DIY amps and speakers
