Hello, just ripped thousands of discs through iTunes using ALAC into a my network drive, and now driving several systems, each one using MacBook Pro, iTunes (10.3+), Amarra (2.2) with various DACs including Wyred4Sound DAC2, Benchmark DAC1 HDR, Burmester 001 and the Consonance Droplet. They mostly sound very good, still comparing.
However, a BIG headache with iTunes-Amarra, if anyone has a solution please help - after a very short break (say 10 - 15 mins) when no songs are played through iTunes, when I resume (whether through the laptop keyboard or by Remote), there is NO OUTPUT from iTunes. So, more exactly, when I resume playing a new song:
- the song plays for one second or so and OUTPUT from iTunes terminates
- the song's timer ticks on in iTunes
- the signal meter in Amarra registers nothing
- the little iTunes/Amarra toggle button turns orange (from green)
I have to quit both iTunes and Amarra, and restart the software, in order to start playing songs with normal output from iTunes.
The wierdest thing is - on two of my four systems (all MacBook Pros running iTunes - Amarra), I don't have this problem, but on the other two I can't fix it, even though I have gone to the lengths of buying a brand new MacBook Pro and installing nothing on it but Amarra.
Is it sleep settings issue ? I tried to check, but my machines are mainly set never to put hard disks to sleep, displays to sleep after say 3 mins.
Has anyone ever run into this ?
Clement
