  1. The information available in the forums is fabulous. And yet I still find myself unsure of just how to get started. So any help anyone can offer is appreciated. First, the closest I came to anything resembling audiophile standards was nearly 25 years ago when I spent five years running a higher-end but still mid-fidelity audio/video store (Tweeter, Etc.). At the time I had some fairly nice gear but 25 years later I find myself with a wife who has opinions on what the living room looks like and four boys who while sharing my love of music, result in my having less time to actually listen to music. As a result, I spend too much time listening to music during my workday in my home office on a pair of Bose Companion 3 speakers. When I do get to listen to music it's using a dedicated Windows 7 Professional 64-bit media server running J. River Media Center 16 feeding a Denon AVR-4308CI receiver with a pair of Artisan Sketch speakers with a Velodyne 12" subwoofer. My secondary system in the bedroom is a Cambridge Audio integrated amp with an ancient pair of a/d/s/ L-710 speakers. So, if you can pick yourself up off the floor and stop laughing enough to type a response, here's where I need help. 1. My on-board sound card has only analog and HDMI output. As a result, I am unable to play DTS audio or pass through a Dolby Digital or DTS movie soundtrack. My assumption is that with my limited amount of money available to spend (
