Hello everyone can I ask for some help I have been using my Aries for over a year now and have seen the DS app get better and better. I have also run a Sonos system for background music around the house so when the Aries Mini came on special I decided it was time to start replacing some of my Sonos zones I got my first Aries Mini and connected it to my network and run the setup, the first thing I noticed is that I lost all my favourite songs out of the collection list that I had bookmarked with my main Aries..... Not impressed all of the music I play is on my Synology NAS and both of the devices are setup with the Lightning Server so I would like to ask a few questions 1. Both the Aries and the mini seem to run independently if I use my IPad and IPhone what I do on one is not shown on the othe like playlists and favourites is this true ? 2. If I set up the Mini to use the music library setup I used for the Aries then when the Aries is asleep or off then I cannot play music on the Mini as it says that the music is off line 3. I can't' for the life of me figure how to save playlists to the Collection setting I can save normal playlists but not on the collection setting where you have the favourites for Artists, Albums, ect. so I guess what I'm sort of saying is that it seems I can't run an Auralic system like I was running my Sonos for an all of house music because if my wife comes home and wants to play a playlist that I have created then it's just not on her phone or she has to turn on the main Aries to get music playing I hope all this makes sense, I do like the Lightning DS app when I'm using my Aries on my main HiFi but it seems to fall apart when you have other devices around your home, is this true or am I missing something thanks in advance Brian

Well today I sat down to listen to some music and I got to play approx two minutes of music before the Aries dropped of the system, music stopped and then reconnected ready to play a new song . All my music disappeared and said my library was empty but when I went to folder view it was there. Bloody amazing I had none of this before doing the updates, so I totally reset the Airies using the reset button underneath the unit, deleted the app, rebooted everything I could think of and started from scratch Well what do you know it is now working and no drop outs, I still cannot use the Lightning server because that is still very buggie but I am now using Minimserve and it is playing Ok

I have been talking to Auralic about some other issues mainly the fact that it was now taking about 15mins just to rescan my music files where as before it was a lot quicker. no I have not put in a ticket for this problem The fact is that it all started when I did the latest update

Rebooting hasn't helped my problem with my Aries dropping out, it has never done this before and now that I have updated the App I'm having all sorts of problems. I can't believe I didn't do a backup of my iPad otherwise I could rollback the App and all would be good again I'm going to try the Lumin App tonight and see if I can listen to a song in full without dropping out

Well my frustration continues I have installed Minimserve on my Synology NAS and now every 10 or so minutes the Aries just drops out and I have to turn off turn on to get it to play again I have rebooted the router, the Aries, the App and it's still happening I wish now I hadn't done the update

Thanks bplexico for your advice I have just installed minimserver and it works a treat I will continue with this until Auralic can improve there App

Hello everyone I have now updated to the new firmware and have started to use Lighting App and I have found it very slow. When I was using UPnP on my Synology NAS you openened the App and it scanned your files automatically, but now if I have loaded a new music file I have to manually scan and it now takes about 15 mins to do that and I have found its a hit and miss affair. The other day I scanned and it found the two new CDs I had ripped but then said there was no tracks inside, a second scan fixed it So 30 mins waisted just to play new music !! If I use lightning server all my art work is shown but if I use UPnP a lot of my artwork never seems to load so I like the art work on lightning server Yes I have had lock ups on the new update and have had to restart a few time... Something I didn't get before Can I ask what is the best way to organise my Hi Res files mixed with my WAV files , at the moment I have made a file called HD Music and store them in there under Artist/ Album is this the best or do I just mix them in with the other fields ? Because of this I use the folder view a lot but have found that when you look at say Fleetwood Mac folder when you go back you start at A folder again..... Very frustrating So at the moment I am finding the whole experience not enjoyable at all What amazes me is that Synology has an audio App for my IPhone and it works a treat I can instantly see new music added, all my artwork and it just seems to work !! Is it that hard ?
