  1. Ive set my Mm, and Channel D up to where it plays the native sample rate. I have tried using the upsampling function and find that using the native sampling rate sounds better. -e
  2. Hello friends! I am quite happy with the results I am experiencing with my 2011 Mac Mini running Lion and PM. However I want to see if there is more I can do software wise to get better sound. I have read that you can turn off spotlight, widgets and other items but is this the same procedure as snow leopard? I am still a little bit of a Mac newbie so any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks in advance! -e
  3. Ok, new update. Decided to skip the gym and figure this out. So far I have been listening to music now for about 2 hours with no problems! Sounds quite elementary buy I set Pure Music back to it's factory defaults. Made he necessary adjustments and voila!! Problem seems to be solved ( knock on wood!!) -e

  5. Ok the clicking is driving me crazy so I wanted to check a couple of things. Just to fill you in I am using pure music and using the machine primarily headless with iPad as remote and control using screen share on my MacBook pro. What i am finding is that when pure music is playing a song, after about about 4-5 second after starting the play button in iTunes starts to flicker and the track time remaining counter is choppy. When I started watching carefully and I found 90% of the time the audible pop happens when the play button flickers. I though something had changed when turning off the remote program but it still occurred. This is real weird any ideas? Erik
  6. Enrique, Just came across this thread and I too am experiencing clicks when placing in 192. I am running a 2011 macmini with a Wyred 4 Sound DAC2. Still trying to figure out what's causing it.. Just sent w4s an email to see what their thoughts are. -e
  7. Akapod, Thanks for the info! When I decide to make the change I am assuming I don't need to get the biggest drive avail if I am storing my music externally? -e
  8. George, I too just picked up a 2011 Mac Mini with the 2.5ghz processor and I am quite impressed. I can't compare the 2011 to the previous models due to this being my first digital rig. What I did find is that the computer itself did need some break in time. The first night up and running I was still figuring out how to use PM and was organizing files in itunes so I cannot say I was doing any critical listening though I can say I was not very impressed and thought all those guys on this forum are crazy thinking computer music sounds good. no offense ( I am a big vinyl head) BUT since I run the machine headless it runs all the time so when I sat down to listen to music on Saturday night I was blown away with what I was hearing! I literally listened to music from 9pm - 3am, I would have stayed up longer but I forced myself to go to bed. Sorry to blather but I am still quite excited with this new rig. Needles too say I am still learning when it comes to digital/computer music and hope to learn more down the road but my point is I am quite impressed and blown away with the 2011 Mini pure music. Cant wait to see what happens when PM tweaks the program more for OSX Lion On the learning note: I see alot of people switching out the internal HD for a Solid State Hard Drive. What is the purpose of this? Also you don't store the data on that drive do you? Erik Erik
  9. So I pulled the trigger and picked up a new mac mini running ut thru pure music and my w4s DAC2. (first digital audiophile rig). So far I'm very impressed! I do have a pure music question. Where should the volume /output level be set? I would think at 0db but when I set it to that most of my albums sound as if they are getting overdriven. Any suggestions? Erik
  10. hmm... Could I be doing something wrong then.. When i put the volume slider to 0db the music sounds blown out..
  11. Pulled the trigger last night and picked up the new Mac Mini and a iPad2. Got it all fired up, loaded the drivers for my DAC 2 and then downloaded the updated Pure Music program. So far there hasn't been any problems that i can see and it seems to sound pretty good! I should also mention this is the first time using Pure Music so I may have some questions. First of which, where should the volume be set on the slider bar. I find that when i turn the output slider all the way up it blows out the audio. Erik
  12. Damn you Akapod!!! throwing a wrench in my plans!!
  13. Thanks for all of your opinions! I am usually not this picky when it comes to this stuff. From what I have been reading and researching I think I am going to pull the trigger and get the new Mini. Even though ill only be using this for music play back I like knowing that I have current technology that will provide several years of usage. Not only that, it really doesnt make sense to buy a left over mini for 560 bucks, spend another 100 on 4-8 gigs of memory and still have an older hardware. I also briefly spoke to EJ from wyred4sound and he mentioned that several people have had success with using the dac drivers on lion which is good to hear because i could just strictly use itunes until puremusic gets their stuff together. Ill keep you informed with what happens when i leave work! Thanks again, Erik
  14. Richard, sorry about that I meant did the Apple store have the I7 mini's in stock or did you have to special order it. With regards with your current Mac Mini, how is that working for you? Is there a real need to upgrade to the newer models if i am only using it for music? I am torn between buying a left over one and saving 100 bucks or getting the new one. -e
  15. Richard, Did you have to special order that box or did they have them for purchase at an Apple store?
