  1. Resetting PR RAM (option-cmd-R-P) doing startup, made the soundstage grow for... 100.000$!
  2. It doesn't offer any clue, to me at least - They don't seem to go anywhere, like they do on a PC. There are a mio threads running, but no one really uses a lot, except from WindowServer kernel_task coreaudiod and agent for photo, but as soon as I kill it, it respawns that little twat! Same with calendar agent a the others.
  3. Mac Mini mid 2011 16 GB RAM 120 GB flashdrive No matter if I use the minijack, the toslink OR the USB to another DAC, the sound gets worse over the hours. Sounds as heavy jitter actually. Thought it might be due to heating, or lack of RAM. But it's none of those. A simple restart cures it for some hours, and then it comes again. For the stangest of reasons, my 16GB Mac Book Pro with 512 GB flash sounds not nearly as good, as the mini. No matter what output tried as above. What's the fix boys?
  4. Jeez where to start here.. I believe my sound is pulsing after a bass-stroke. As in sounding good, crisp, clear, but when a bass-stroke occurs, it's kinda like the following half sec or so, looses 2-3dB! Lineup is; VOX Mac Mini Toslink Harman Kardon HK990 I would swear I have had this issue before. But before, as in 10 years ago! On completely other gear. When I try googling pulsing toslink, that is actually a way it works, not an actual problem. Am I nuts, or what's wrong?
  5. Up until now, I used my Mac Mini for playing music and movie streaming in 1080P. Then I bought a 4K UHD Panasonic TV, but just forgot the 4K issue with the Mac Mini, as it only runs 1080P. I use the computer part a lot, both for Tidal HIFI music, download(ing)ed movies and browsing the net. What does everyone else do with the 4K UHD streaming?
  6. Can we get hands on the best scripts for shutting down processes? Messenger, Itunes helper and all that other sheit!
  7. It seems to be a combination between using audirvana and soundcloud in safari - back and forth, and the soundstage is collapsed - and a reboot is the only way. OR if it has just been minding it's own business for a handfull of hours. So no.
  8. Now kernel_task uses up 456 mb - with NO programs running (after running for 5 hours straight) WindowServer uses up 55 mb com.apple.IconservicesAgent uses up 40 mb Soo.. kernel_task might be the problem?? How do I address that?
  9. I have been running izotope (or what ever) audiodriver, instead of apple coreaudio. Selectable in Audirvarna settings. My files are typical 16 bit 44.1Khz - but the software shows 32 or 24 bit 44.1 I tried to use the setting limit to 24bit instead of 32, and all of it helped a lot, but I'm not sure it is entirely gone. I have selected no upsampling in audirvanas settings. NOTHING seems to be hitting on the CPU!! I'm using 20% of my RAM and CPU is 2%...
  10. After a restart, my.. well this goes for both my 2009 and 2011, with clean installs. They sound really good, but then after a few hours soundstage collapses, lack on mousebottonresponse becomes worse, remote controlling from my macbook pro becomes almost impossible, or it is impossible after a day of running. Then I need to restart, in order to make it sound good again. This really can't be meant to do so!??
  11. Fuxng sweet!! I've been looking all over for this man!!! Thanks a million!!! Does anyone know if there is a span on the 12VDC? Like if 13.8VDC goes - or it will go up in smoke??
  12. My setup is mac mini 2011 -> W4S dac 2 -> Preamp -> Poweramp When I'm listening to dynamic soundtracks, that has a fully 0dB signal, I get these electrically sounding sparks in the signal. Like a digital oversteer. I checked every volume control (actually they are all fixed due to the DAC) and nothing is above 100% What is this?? Help!
  13. I'm listening in here. But NO PSU, will EVER get as good as a battery supply! And as I see it, after taking my mini 2010 apart it's a 12VDC supply!? Does anyone have a pin layout, one of the pins does something different... But what?
  14. That was it! Overheating. But the sound is fairly less precise now, again...
  15. I will I will, and let you know, if it fixes it. But how about passive cooling, anyone?
