  1. I am thinking about building out a music server instead of using my Mac Mini but wanted to get some opinions from people on here. I have a Metrum Octave and a John Kenny MK3 SPDIF and need to build a server or maybe just use my Mac Mini for the front end. I like the idea of the server as I have more options to keep it very clean and simple. Thus far the build looks like this: Wesena ITX-4 Case Intel D2700MUD Mainboard 4GB of Memory Intel 80GB SSD This unit will be fan less. With pretty much nothing else. Instead of using SOTM TX-USB I would like to put that money into the power supply. I have been reading around on this forum and other sites as to what way to go for a power supply but do not want to pay $1000 for one. Is there a mini-itx solution that is not BIG money? I was thinking about going with a picpsu with a linear external power supply but have read that might not be the best choice. Going with a 3 rail stage linear is another option but not sure on how to create a loom for this and could be very complicated. I have read from most users to stay away from SMPS. Any ideas? Would like to keep it pretty clean looking and around $400 or less for the power supply. Or I could just use the Mini... Thanks
  2. Anyone? I did test this USB cable on another device to make sure that it passes data fine and it does.
  3. Has anyone tried a USB cable with the new Calyx DAC that has the power leg lifted? I just picked up one and it seems to be DOA. Trying to find out if it has anything to do with my custom USB cable. Thanks
