  1. Not applicable for Lumin, but here's a useful program for Windows PCs called LatencyMon, a "Real-time audio suitability checker": LatencyMon checks if a system running Windows is suitable for processing real-time audio and other tasks. LatencyMon analyzes the possible causes of buffer underruns by measuring kernel timer latencies and reporting DPC and ISR execution times as well as hard pagefaults. It will provide a comprehensible report and find the kernel modules and processes responsible for causing audio latencies which result in drop outs. It also provides the functionality of an ISR monitor, DPC monitor and a hard pagefault monitor. LatencyMon will display the highest latencies of a kernel timer and report the highest execution times of ISR and DPC routines as well as hard pagefaults. In most cases it will also find the drivers and processes responsible for executing them. It will create a comprehensible report which also displays all sampled data in a detailed manner allowing you to perform in-depth analysis.
  2. That's Mike Bovaird who's the owner of Suncoast Audio in Florida and AudioShark is his website. He later jokingly says: "It’s coming. It’s been the worst kept secret in high end audio."
  3. Thought this post might be of interest on this thread: Aurender and Roon
  4. I thought current models would just require a software update to make them Roon Ready once they're certified, is that correct or will it require new hardware? TIA
  5. A successor to the X1 being released soon seems likely, since the X1 still has their older brushed chassis finish as well as their previous generation hardware. Doesn't seem fitting for their reference level product.
  6. A couple new reviews of the RS130: A much more comprehensive review from HiFi News (October 2023) where they award it as an Outstanding Product. Some of their notable findings: Linear PS with supercapacitor UPS, feeds separately regulated supplies for processors, OCXO, NVMe SSD cache, USB and Ethernet ports. Reports on revelatory sonics uncovering nuances never before heard on familiar recordings. Sonics are indistinguishable on files played via internal SSD or USB connected drive or from NAS. Measurements section states it’s firmly in the upper echelon of music storage/streaming devices with the Aurender W20SE, Grimm MU1, Innuos Statement, AURALiC Sirius G2.1 (may have meant Aries combo since I recall they were reviewed together), and Antipodes Oladra. Jitter figures are on par with the best they’ve ever measured which were from the Aurender W20SE and N30SA. Full review: HiFi News review of HiFi Rose RS130 network transport
  7. I've read that while Lumin provides firmware upgrades which can provide new functionality, they don't offer hardware upgrades of their products. Many of their dealers will accept trade ins of older models if you wish to upgrade the hardware.
  8. There's an extensive thread about various similar products to take your power off the grid here: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/using-battery-power-to-go-off-the-city-s-power-grid
  9. That review starts on page 86 of TAS Issue 335 which is available here: https://www.theabsolutesound.com/?r3d=tas-issue-335-february
  10. @artofaudio The confusing part of your earlier post I referred to was the first sentence: "How does the DAC in the X1 compare to the one in the X1?" 🤔
  11. Congrats on the new Cary DMS 700, sounds like you're very pleased with its performance and for only half the price of a Lumin X1. With all due respect your original post was a bit confusing. 🤔
  12. Alvin from Vinshine Audio just released this video which covers the new LHY battery power supply: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzFeTAXh5lw
  13. This seems to be the intended URL: https://www.audio-video-show.cz/
  14. AXPONA only allows exhibitors access to their rooms to move-in all gear and setup their systems the day before the show begins. 🤔 It's usually a mad rush for many participants.
