Yes, I confirmed that at the CA website, thanks, and I will take the Magni 2 in serious consideration -

Add headphone jack to DacMagic?

So, I take it I will need some type of headphone amplifier between the unbalanced RCA output jacks and the headphones? Please excuse my ignorance, I have never attempted anything like this before -
My Cambridge Audio DacMagic is the earlier model to which I would love to be able to add a headphone jack to. It has a set of RCA outputs marked unbalanced - would utilizing these be a good way to achieve my goal or is there a better option (or am I out of luck with this model DAC) ? Any insight is much appreciated! TIA

That is what I was thinking also. I should be able to give the SPDIF connection a try in a couple days (a few loose ends remaining, this "change" is not to be taken lightly) Thanks for your help (everyone) (seriously) J

I have Win 7 installed with Boot Camp but I would have to run both OSs in parallel (I know it can be done but I sense a PITA) under "normal operating conditions" so, I don't see it as an option - thx

Thanks and you have my apologies

Perhaps "he" could, but "he" is simply inquiring as to the best method as "he" is unfamiliar with his options. Thanks for your help and have a nice day.

Very good, I will at least start with the optical out as it's "limitations" should not be an issue for me : ) Also, good to know about Mountain Lion, I was complacent because I do use iTunes (for mobile) and was avoiding having to deal with uninstalling v11 and reinstalling 10.7 but I know it can be done. Thanks for your help

That would be the simplest approach but I'm wondering if there is a benefit to a card with improved performance like I experienced with my PC. I am not sure there is such an animal for the Mac however -

I never dreamed I'd be writing this a month ago but I am now the owner of a new MacPro 5.1 (a trade I could not pass by.) So, anyway, I am moving everything I can over to OS X (lion) although I do have the option of booting to Win 7, I want to try running my audio on OS X . My (PC) setup has been Asus Xonar Essence STX > Cambridge Audio DacMagic via J River and Toslink Since (sadly) the card will not run on OS X I am looking for an option of at least equal quality. Any suggestions are appreciated, I am still pretty clueless as to the Mac world. And, BTW I love a good Mac joke - let 'er rip!

accurate file transfer conformation ? - PC to Mac

Right as I hit send, I remembered I have Win 7 (Boot Camp/Paragon) on both ends, (doh!) so I have a workable system with TeraCopy. It's exactly what I needed with my limited understanding of the more complex computereese - very nice little program. That being said I may look into the rsync/Forklift option in the future. Thanks very much for the suggestions, they are GREATLY appreciated ! -

Thanks. Sure would be nice if there was a way to do it in realtime. Copying that many files takes a long time , only to find inconsistencies - grrrr
