  1. Welcome in my thread ;-) I'm looking for an answer that Apple's Web Site cannot give us but maybe you'll be able to : MAC Mini 2010/2011 are known to have both digital and analog audio output using the built in Mini jack Connector. Focusing on the Digital Audio Output : I'm sure that Digital Optical work (Mini Toslink) but the Apple web site description suggest it works with Mini Jack Digital audio cable too (meaning Copper 75ohms cable). Does anyone can confirm me this "suggestion" ? Thanks a lot +++ G.
  2. Actually I use Powermac G5 with Lynx AES. It's a bit noisy neither do the MAC Mini. I would like to know if the Mac Mini output is good enough compared to Powermac + Lynx ? Using Digital SPDIF Output(Mini Jack) to AES Dynaudio AIR speaker input is IMHO possible. PS. Dynaudio AIR series had integrated DAC
  3. Regarding Mac Mini specs its audio output is 24bits 192Khz Ready. Isn't it a better quality/priced choice to use this way to AES Dynaudio Speakers ? I mean mini jack Digital Audio output (SPDIF according to Apple MAc Mini specs) connected to AES audio input of Dynaudio speaker. G.
  4. Question of the Day : How to connect a Mac Mini to an AES/EBU interface ???
  5. Thanks for your reply. Regarding the total cost, these interfaces are much higher than my Powermac + Lynx AES. What about Digital output format of the Mac Mini : SPDIF or AES ? Maybe you know something about it ?
  6. Hello, I'm asking myself what kind of audio output comes with Mac mini and many more.. . According to Apple web page audio output is optical, digital or analogical. My Hifi system : Powermac G5 (2x2ghz-SSD-OS 10.5.8) + Lynx AES 16 + Dynaudio AIR 25 Some questions : 1. Is it possible to use standard digital copper (it means not optical) cable mini-jack->XLR to connect the mac mini audio output to the Dynaudo internal DAC (only XLR AES/EBU). 2. Is it possible to do some oversampling. Apple tells us Mac Mini is 24bits/192Khz ready. My music comes from my CD (44,1khz 16bits) ripped with Itunes. Is it possible to listen the music after an oversample to a higher rate ? How can we do so ? 3. Is it possible to synchro wordclock the mac mini and the Dynaudio ? What kind of clock do I need ? Thanks a lot for any reply. G.
