  1. carbon copy or super duper is fine, I do this every time I add a few CD's I keep at least 3 HD copies. You can also use disk utility to do a full clone of the drive as well. Any of the 3 will work. As as another precaution my Machine and iTunes is also backed up with Time Machine
  2. Confirm that I do not need to re rip all my CD's
  3. Can someone confirm this: I have ripped all my CD's as "Apple lossless" and I stumbled upon this thread in my quest to find an answer to my Apple TV issue, in that when playing back lossless I get graphic slowness on the apple TV in that text scrolls are jerky and the Album art is not smooth when moving on the screen it jerks. I tried re ripping some music in AIFF and the problem goes away (the problem does not happen with ACC 320k) So I want to use AIFF files. My question to everyone is do I need to re rip or can using the convert my lossless to AIFF give me the same result. It's taken me two months to do all my CD's I do not want to do it again if I can avoid it. I assume converting a lossless to AIFF will give me a bit perfect copy of the CD file?
