  1. Hi hope somebody can help. The latest version of JRemote is supposed to show pdf files. But I have not been able to make JRemote show my pdf files (liner notes). I guess there is some customize view involved, but I have no idea how to do it! Can anyone help please? Thanks Enrique
  2. Ruben Make sure that under PP you select MC as your Media Renderer as well as the Media Server (in both cases, the MC logo should appear on PP) However, I have to agree with Paul on this one... PP has so many bugs that I just gave up. I am using MC 16 in theater mode and Spalshtop to control it. It works pretty well... Hoope this helps, Enrique
  3. Hi Paul, I also experience a smooth and detailed SQ in Amarra. After upgrading to Lion, I also find that, at least on my system, Pure Music and Amarra perform very close to each other. PM, maybe, is a little bit brighter. I am still fighting with the Esoteric driver, and that is the main thing that is keeping me from using the Mac Mini with (possibly) Amarra as my full time music server. On the Windows side, JRiver has been a very solid performer in my system and in my room. I guess this has a lot to do with my background and the many hours spent in tweaking Win 7 and JRiver. Enrique
  4. I also installed Lion update 10.7.1, but I still get clicks when playing 192/24. It is a Esoteric driver issue. On a side note, I also installed a USB Hub with power supply (following a suggestion here and also in Stereophile mag). But, as expected, clicks still randomly occur with 192/24 files... As a last resort, I am going on a 3-day business trip to NY next week and have a 8 GB memory upgrade on order from Amazon. Not much hope, but it will be my last try... In the mean time, going back to my Win7 + JRiver music server... Enrique
  5. AudioDoctor, I agree that Lion has something to do with the problem. I finally talked to Esoteric tech support yesterday, and they were able to replicate the problem. Most importantly, Esoteric acknowledges that there is a problem with the current driver when playing 192k files. Hope that Esoteric can figure out a solution fast, as it is quite frustrating not been able to use such a fine (and expensive) toy at its full potential! I will try 192/24 files from my Macbook Air with SL tonight. If I get the clicks, I guess then it is a driver specific problem (it is the same 32 bit driver. No Lion specific driver yet) Enrique
  6. Erik I have experience the click problem with and without Apple Remote App. For instance, running 192k FLAC or AIFF through FIDELIA or Decibel with no remote, and through Pure Music or Amarra with remote. In my case, the clicks are random. Not many, maybe one or two in a 2 minute track. As you also notice with no remote, I guess we have a similar problem. Maybe hardware driver problem. Enrique
  7. Hi All, just an update: I installed the 10.7.1, and no improvement, i.e., I still get clicks. Also, Esoteric is still mute! Waiting for their call... After all the tests I have performed, I have to agree with some posters here that it is likely a Esoteric driver problem Enrique
  8. Eisenmac. out of topic, but can you provide the link to the memory module you bought at Amazon. I also have a 2011 Mac Mini with 4GB and want to upgrade to 8 GB! Thanks Enrique
  9. pwfletcher I did the PRAM reset as you suggested, but I still have clicks with 192k playback... This is getting boring and frustrating... waiting to hear from Esoteric. Thanks Enrique
  10. Pwfletcher Excuse my Mac ignorance, but what is a PRAM reset? How do I do one? Thanks Enrique
  11. Paul, Thanks for the tip. I have placed one powered USB hub on order. It should be here in a couple of days. In the meantime, I am curious to hear what Esoteric has to say about it. I suspect of a driver related issue, as they have yet to release a 64-bit driver. Even though they claim to have successfully played 192 FLACs in a Lion based Mac Mini... Enrique
  12. Hi Rob Thanks. I have contacted Esoteric and they are supposed to call me back at home. let see how it goes, as I am in Brazil! Enrique
  13. Chris, I just did the suggested tests: 1) Screen sharing on, Audio Midi to 192k, only ITunes and controlled via Apple Remote App: DAC's front panel shows 192k and I get clicks 2) Screen sharing on, Audio Midi to 96k, only ITunes and controlled via Apple Remote App: DAC's front panel shows 96k and I get no clicks 3) Screen sharing off, Splashtop off, Audio Midi to 192k, only ITunes and controlled via Apple Remote App: DAC's front panel shows 192k and I get clicks Enrique
  14. Greg, Yes, random clicks through Pure Music, Fidelia, Amarra, and with ITunes (when playing it alone). All players with latest versions (downloaded from the corresponding webpages) Enrique
