I have an Ipad2 so I am merely repeating what I read in a post here @ some point last year. Perhaps I am thinking that they had limited the resolution capability via USB? Happy that this is apparently innacurate. Would it help if I go find the post? Edit: must be thinking of the 16 bit cap which is a deal killer for me. Sorry

I learned at this site first that on the IPad1 Apple had crippled digital audio w the AV kit via USB with a software update. Wadia, Denon, Cypher Labs, April Music, Cambridge et al are licensees that pay fees for their proprietary access to this digital signal path.

Looking for a thread that dicusses performance comparisons of the Apple Air products compared to their hard wired transport minded counterparts such as the Pure I-20, Wadia, etc.

I have friends with high $ dollar systems that swear to me they will be content w airport express and its 44.1/16 architecture to their DACs.... really? Can anyone point me towards a thread where this is discussed in grerater depth?
